Hell monkey bars. I won't be at the Knitting Factory show, meth. I so would be, trust me. But I'm actually going to be going in the opposite direction of you, heading back to the east coast on Tuesday the 24th for the week. See, my parents are selling our home in Aberdeen, Maryland (home for 25 years) and moving to a suburb of Phoenix (hey...whatta coincidence), and I gotta say one last goodbye to the house I've known all but 2 years of my life. And then, it's up to Boston for my sister's wedding on the 28th! Oh, my parents did the drive from Phoenix to L.A. back in July, and they said it was about the equivalent of the drive from Baltimore to Boston (6-7 hours). It should be doable for ya. The other thing I failed ecto on is telling you that the Dresden Dolls were in L.A. at the Troubadour on Wednesday (a show that I missed because I was working), and then on Jimmy Kimmel on Thursday (Kimmel?! I missed the show, and thus missed the chance to see what an odd pairing that was). They had a nice write up in the LA Weekly last week and I believe Nic Harcourt has been playing them on KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic. He even used them in the first of an ongoing segment with a radio programmer on the BBC in England where every Friday, they share one artist who they're really hyped on with the other host's radio audience. Sherlyn was acutally the first ectophile to one of our house concerts. Neal and I were trying to think of who would have come to any of the shows--we both had a nagging feeling that there was someone we were forgetting, but kept thinking of likely candidates-- and somehow Australian ectophiles didn't come to mind. Sorry for the omission!
