If only that were true! I've been cornered by quite a few female music store employees at one time or another. They're no less obnoxious. I have noticed that the Barrys of the world are often trying to hit on the person that is on the receiving end of their attentions. ah..that explains a lot. smiles. anna maria __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Stacey Earle, Edie Carey, Kris Delmhorst, Laura Veirs... I think we'll definitely make the Stacey Earle and Kris Delmhorst/Edie Carey nights. They made a beautiful song really ughly, if that's the intention. It makes me want to post my newest version of Kate's "Deeper Understanding" that I call "My Computer". I mean, it's strange, it's more electronica and darker than Kate's, but at least it's not ugly (I think) Now, if only one of you techno-heads could walk me thru how to post it up here, I'd be glad to give it away and see what you all think of it. I am planning, with proper credit to Kate and permission from her publishing, of course, to include it on my current recording. It would be fun to hear what folks think of the rough BEFORE I go into the studio. cyoakha grace ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 18 Aug 2004 15:12:57 -0700 From: Steve VanDevender Subject: Re: ecto-digest V10 #229 cyo@landoftheblind.com writes: > It makes me want to post my newest version of Kate's "Deeper > Understanding" that I call "My Computer". I think the thing to do would be to put it up on a web page somewhere so people could download it. I'm sure Ecto in general would probably not want to get the multimegabyte MP3 file by email and anyway I believe there are a number of safeguards in the mailing list software to limit message size and strip out binary attachments. Many of us being well-connected netfolk, if you don't have web space of your own someone could probably volunteer to host it for a while. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 18 Aug 2004 16:43:37 -0700 (PDT) From: kitty kat Subject: Re: [Wrong Century] Happy Rhodes at Tin Angel in Philadelphia - 1/29/05 I wonder when it's going to be Not Too Early to make travel arrangements for this. Once it's a show-upcoming instead of a show-in-planning, I guess. I think I'm finally going to have to travel to hear her live. I checked out the website and it said probably touring in January, and discussing a Tin Angel gig, so I probably should wait to see where else she's going to be. But it's about time - I've been on ecto since, um, '93? and haven't made a live show yet. This will be the time! - -Kat On Tue, 17 Aug 2004, fingerpuppets wrote: > this was posted to the wrongcentury yahoogroup. the tin angel site > lists the gig and auntiesocialmusic refers to it on the front page as a > show-in-planning. just thought you'd all like to know. :) > > woj > > ----- Forwarded message from Debby ----- > > To: wrongcentury@yahoogroups.com > From: "Debby" > Date: Tue, 17 Aug 2004 20:05:20 -0000 > > Happy Rhodes is scheduled to play the Tin Angel in Philadelphia on > Saturday, January 29, 2005. If you don't get better offers I could probably host it on what my ISP allows for webserving - as long as this is only for Ecto consumption. If you have an mp3 file just email it to me privately (not to Ecto!) and I'll do the rest. ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V10 #230 ***************************
