Glad you finally got to see her live, I first saw her 18 Mar 2002, and I have seen her about five times through the years, I really wish I could see her do a headlining set, but I've only seen her open for Melissa Ferrick... not that I'm complaining, they are best of friends so she often tours with Melissa, and someday I'll see her do a headlining gig. I have made a strange observation recently. I have a few CD's that are over a decade old where the artists are now performing under different names. When I've gone to look at the artist web sites, I'm surprised to find that the CD I have is available, but the cover has been redone to include the new name! It's kind of funny to see, but also feels a touch like revisionism to me too. Anyone have some other examples of this? It seems like it must have happened for bigger named artists when re-releasing early work. Here are the two I found: World for the First Time - Pipa Pinon, 1994 is now credited to Dreambeach. http://www.dreambeach.net/catalog.htm I saw it being purged from my local radio station's library and quickly grabbed it. It's an interesting, varied album and I'm happy to own it. The other is Absence of Uniformity, from 1993, originally by The Raven & Co and now by Darlene and Co (Darlene of the Road Dog Divas). This is a jazzy rootsy album that I haven't really listened to much. Somewhat pointed me to the Darlene web site and I was really surprised to make the connection. I remember seeing her open for Michelle Shocked in California in 1993 (Jeff, were you at that show too?) and being really impressed. I picked up the CD and enjoyed it pretty well, but it got lost in the stacks and I forgot all about it. When I re-discovered Darlene through the Divas and the Little Red Hen collective, I never made the connection. I think that might also be the only instance I can think of where an artist has gotten to make a really strong first impression on me twice :) neal now editing: The Children's Hour radio show that I DJ'ed on Saturday morning ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 1 Aug 2004 16:56:58 EDT From: Toriamosrising@aol.com Subject: Re: Latest Tori mix hi, what disc set is this? curious...bootleg?....fan made?...sounds cool thanks, ***Kris the boy*** ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 01 Aug 2004 14:03:45 -0700 From: raven@igc.org Subject: RE[2]: yay anne heaton At 11:41 AM 08/01/2004, Collected Sounds wrote: >Anyone else have any great quotes regarding Anne >that I could use for my invites?
