I knew about the Dresdens and Melissa but not the others....thank you so much for all of this LA music information. I am seeing Melissa at the Largo, which will be the first time I have seen her while i am sitting, except for Folk Alliance. As I am sure you guys know, her shows are energy packed and the Largo is more sedate or at least the shows I have seen there, should be interesting. I'm don't know if she's doing this everywhere, but Melissa recently did a show at the Iron Horse in Northampton where she did audience q&a between songs. The impression I got was that it was a more low-key evening than her usual shows. Maybe she's doing the same thing at Largo? Again, I don't know, it's just a thought. =============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth =============================================== Live At The House O'Muzak House Concert Series http://muzak.smoe.org =============================================== ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 19 Jun 2004 14:17:53 -0400 From: "JoAnn Whetsell" Subject: RE: Anne Heaton, "Give In" It is currently available at CD Baby (another reason to run over there since the $5 sale is still on) and just arrived in my mailbox yesterday. I was leaving home so haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, but I'm excited to check it out when I get home. Melissa Ferrick has 2 new cd's there too, a live disc with Brian Winton (on drums I think) called 70 People @ 7000 Feet which just came with the Anne Heaton cd and The Other Side which I've been listening to for a week now and which is wonderful. One of her best studio albums I think, completely self-done.
