Hello all... just popping back into existence due to having seen Sarah M.
live last night :)

Well they carried on to NZ in fine form. The Wellington gig was the
band's second show out of three (they play Auckland tomorrow I
believe), and it was simply stunning. Worth waiting eight years for,
even (although I certainly hope that she lives up to her stated
intention to come back a lot quicker next time!). Any Aucklanders
here with tickets are in for a treat.

I thought that rendition was almost worth the price of admission on
its own. I was delighted that she sang so many songs from FTE. I was
expecting the bulk of the show to be made up from Surfacing and
Afterglow (the latter of which I haven't actually heard yet), but I
think that she played more from Fumbling than either of the other
albums.

Tell me about it. Not that The Chieftains are a bad band, but it was a
little frustrating to pay your money when you only really wanted to see
the support act. IIRC she came back on stage to play with them for a
few songs during their set, though, so it could have been worse. (And
I got to talk to her after the show, that time.)
Eternally jealous of those who get to see shows like this on a
regular basis, but for the time being just extremely happy,
