Yeah, I figured. I was just curious if anyone made it there, since I too wanted to know how they did anything with that huge space. > I didn't see the exhibit Neal spoke of, but I saw the next one a couple of > times and it was....wow. Actually I was in LONDON that time, and also saw that exhibit and it was definitely groovy. People were camped out all over the place just taking naps and zoning out. I imagine it would have been a great place to go right after getting stoned. If one did such thing. The sun like disk was actually only a half disk. The mirror ceiling supplied the other half of the disk, giving the impression of a huge sun bathing the room in an yellow orange (~PANTONE 130) ambience. > Where was I? Well I love her lo-fi stuff but it all sort of went downhill for me post TO BRING YOU MY LOVE. And I wasn't all too impressed with her single THE LETTER. But maybe I'll check it out. Maybe download a few songs before I invest. PJH has been all over, I think she's on another cover as well, including MOJO or TIMEOUT LONDON, but some other magazine. AP? I can't remember. Speaking of downloading, does anyone know of a place that I can download a copy of WEDNESDAY NIGHT's ANGEL? I forgot to watch it, and now I have no way of seeing it. Blast damnit all. And only one more episode left too. Grrrr.... I think you can get it off of something called BITTORRENT but I am unfamiliar with it (is it sort of like a LIMEWIRE/GNUTELLA P2P thing?). I should investigate. Is it available on MAC OS or PC only? And once I install it, and find it, how do I go about playing said download? Sorry this is WAY off topic. Well, if there is such a thing on ECTO. Irvin Ps. By the way I haven't seen it mentioned, but TORI AMOS is releasing her first full length DVD next Tuesday (I had thought she had already released a NEW YORK concert on DVD, but I might be mistaken, anyway all the marketing for this DVD talks about how this is her FIRST DVD). It's called WELCOME TO SUNNY FLORIDA (which makes me think that it's one of her Florida concerts but what do I know?). I thought I would mention it. It has a complete concert, as well as a bonus audio CD with 6 leftover songs from her SCARLET'S WALK sessions - some unreleased, some b-sides. You can probably find more info at www.thedent.com but I'm too lazy to check. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 14 May 2004 16:35:44 +0300 From: Markku Kolkka Subject: Re: Tate Modern, PJ HARVEY, ANGEL and TORI. irvin lin kirjoitti viestissddn (ldhetysaika perjantai, 14. toukokuuta 2004 09:15): > I think you can get it off of something called BITTORRENT but > I am unfamiliar with it (is it sort of like a > LIMEWIRE/GNUTELLA P2P thing?). I'm unfamiliar with Limewire and Gnutella, but BitTorrent is a distributed P2P file-sharing system optimized for large files. I've used it for Linux distribution CD images. See: http://bitconjurer.org/BitTorrent/ > I should investigate. Is it > available on MAC OS or PC only? It's OS-independent and Open Source, the downoad page has a client built for Mac OS X. There's also a Java client that should work on any system that has Java: http://azureus.sourceforge.net/ > Ps. The European release is next Monday. Bittorrent is the way to go - I've been using it for Angel too, I got the entire season this way, episode by episode. It is the only p2p application that I found consistently deliver, because unlike others it does not depend on making a one-to-one connection and then downloading the whole massive file. Instead it connects to the whole 'swarm' of users interested in this particular file, where everyone is simultaneusly downlading and uploading small random chunks from random users until the whole file is assmebled. It is a lot faster because you are not limited by one person's upstream speed, and a lot more dependable. The downside is, you've got to be quick. Torrents work in the opposite way to normal downloads: the more users are downloading, the better. After each episode is put up there is a spike of interest, there is a large 'swarm' of users and downloading is easy. As the interest drops, so does the availability. And the place to get Angel torrents? http://suprnova.org is the one I've been using. As I said, I got the entire season this way. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 14 May 2004 18:37:10 -0700 From: Neile Graham Subject: Inner's _love the only way_ ...is yes odd and quirky. This is just such a neat site, thought people on this list might appreciate it... Lot of Ecto-ish folks on it, including Vienna and Terami and Rebecca Martin many more people, mainly just sharing thoughts on the process of making music and what music means to us. I've directed Sandy, who runs the site, towards Happy and a number of other people who I'm sure would contribute some wonderful thoughts if they have the time... check it out! http://voicesandvisions.skybleedsscorpio.com/ xo noe v. ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V10 #136 ***************************
