It's a shame that Olive are no longer together, their last album, Trickle, was really amazing. _________________________________________________________________ MSN Search, le moteur de recherche qui pense comme vous ! http://fr.ca.search.msn.com/ ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 22 Apr 2004 08:32:34 -0400 From: Michael Curry Subject: Elysian Fields in NYC (and new CD news) >From: Ashersand@aol.com >Date: Wed, 21 Apr 2004 10:03:51 EDT >Subject: *mark your calendar >To: undisclosed-recipients:; > >ELYSIAN FIELDS >Wednesday, April 28, 2004 >10:00 PM >Tonic >107 Norfolk Street (between Delancey & Rivington) >212 358-7504 www.tonic107.com >tix are $10 in advance /$12 at door (get your tix soon, as this show will >sell out) > >this will be a very special show >their new CD "Dreams That Breathe Your Name" will be for sale at the show >available for the first time in the States! >(the official release date isn't until June 8, so be the first to get the new >record) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 22 Apr 2004 10:07:08 -0400 From: gordodo@optonline.net Subject: Re: names ending in numbers the only band I truly enjoy whose name ends in a number is September 67. makes me want to go check to see if they have anything new / have reformed into a non-numerical ending band... What a great band!! If anyone hasn't heard them, check them out! BTW Jason, they disbanded when their label, Enclave, went belly-up. Shannon Worrell has since gone on to release 2 or 3 great solo CD, which I also HIGHLY recommend. Other band names ending in numbers: Star69 (they had a great song "I'm Insane" you should hear!) Hmm... does Ben Folds Five count? You're probably thinking of 54-40, an excellent Canadian band whose music is a moodier, poppier take on their countrymen the Tragically Hip (or, a Canadian version of REM's more mainstream material). All their CDs are reliably enjoyable for fans of REM, the Hip, etc. And they *rock* live. The names/numbers rule has several other exceptions - Gang of Four, MC5, L7, B-52's, BR5-49 come to mind - but most of these are older and not particularly well known except for the B-52's. And all except the B-52's (and 54-40) are probably outside the usual realm of interest for this list. Lauren __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! You can download the free Mac version of Pro Tools. It's probably way more than you need but the price is right and it works under OS9. This is the "light" version of the software used by many recording studios and broadcasters. http://www.digidesign.com/ptfree There's also a free version that runs under Win98 if there are any PC users here who can use it.
