Hi, I know there are a few ectophiles in the LA/San Diego area ... everybody okay out there? While I'm here -- just making sure all Sarah McLachlan fans in the audience are aware that you can listen to her entire new album at her web site (only in Windoze Media format, alas, though I saw somewhere that it's on ITunes as well). I listened twice yesterday and I am happy to report that it does not suck. I'm not sure if it's particularly good yet, but it's no _Surfacing_, and that's enough to have me jumping for joy. :) =============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth =============================================== Live At The House O'Muzak House Concert Series http://muzak.smoe.org =============================================== ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 29 Oct 2003 08:30:16 -0500 From: Mike Goldman Subject: Re: so-cal roll call? meredith wrote: > While I'm here -- just making sure all Sarah McLachlan fans in the > audience are aware that you can listen to her entire new album at her > web site (only in Windoze Media format, alas, though I saw somewhere > that it's on ITunes as well). FWIW, I'm listening to "Fallen" now, that and all the other tracks now appear to be available in Real format, which is nice because I have a player for my Linux box. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 29 Oct 2003 08:33:15 -0500 From: Mark Chapman Subject: Happy/Bon in Mechanicsburg I'm thinking of going to this Happy gig: Nov. 6 Mechanicsburg, PA Second Floor Gallery 105 South Market St. (717) 697-0502 Anyone know anything about this place? ~Mark ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 29 Oct 2003 06:49:38 -0800 From: Birdie Subject: Re: so-cal roll call? (Toledo, Kenosha and Chicago are taken care of) Please, PLEASE PLEASE tape the show. I will be your best friend for life, and have lots of things to trade. Anyway, there's a particular reason I want as much documentation about this tour as possible. Set list is a given. Photos would be good. Audio tape would be excellent. Video tape would be outstanding. Btw, Happy doesn't mind taping or photos as long as she gets a copy of everything. I got completely sidetracked with the move, but right before that I had been getting into another groove wrt updating all things Happy, including digitizing her live stuff. I plan to get into it again. There's lots to be done yet and I want to make it all available. We still have a lot to do around here. Our audio-video rack isn't even hooked up because Chris, who travels constantly, has to re-run all the electrical and there's not been time! We're getting there. We had a month to move, now it's taking us several months to recover and put the house back together. If I find one more "I'll just throw it all in a box and work it out at the other end" I'll scream. Just last week we finished building more book/video shelves, so I'm only now unboxing all of the books and most of the videos. I never ever ever ever ever want to move again. Please tape/photograph. Please? There are several shows Happy has done that there are no records for. No audio, no video, no photos, not even a set list. There are shows that there isn't even a date for. That's just tragic. By documenting the present, you'll help preserve the past for future Happy Rhodes fans. As it turns out I'm in San Diego for a conference this week. Flying down Sunday afternoon first I overheard bits about fires in the Los Angeles area and flights to Los Angeles-area airports being cancelled. My flight to San Diego from SFO was not affected but as we went down the California coast the fires were clearly visible, and burning near San Diego too. Sunday and Monday the downtown San Diego area was overcast with smoke and visible amounts of ash were accumulating on the ground. Tuesday morning there was a brief break, but then the smoky overcast developed again in the afternoon. Today it's been a little bit better but still smoky; at least the weather pattern is changing to allow more onshore flow which means clear air from the ocean instead of smoke from the fires to the east. On Saturday I'm going to visit a friend in Riverside for a few days, which has been downwind of the San Bernadino fires. This is not quite the sunny California vacation I was expecting. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 30 Oct 2003 01:29:52 -0500 From: "Cynthia Conrad" Subject: Dispatch from Ectoland Alabama listees please see forwarded message below. ==Cynthia== - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Analog Missionary" To: "Analog Missionary mailing list" Sent: Wednesday, December 31, 1969 8:02 PM Subject: Nosferatu 2003 @ the Saenger Theatre - October 31 > Analog Missionary mailing list > ------------------------------ > > > Hi everyone! > > Our biggest show of the year is upon us!
