I had never been to Park West before and I like the layout. There is probably not a bad seat in the house, really. I thought the sound was pretty muddy for the first two acts, but did not have a problem with Alice's set at all, other than her musicians occasionally drowning her out. Her guitar player was making that thing walk and talk, really amazing. He was making sounds that I didn't know could come out of a guitar. *lol* Alice and her band looked like they were having a great time up there and she was very gracious. I have never heard her live before, but I thought she sounded very good. Also, I believe that some of the proceeds from the concert are going to....I forget the exact name....something to do with literacy. A very good cause, whatever it was named. Happy was spectacular tonight at The Point for the RAINN fundraiser. She played: Fall (a new song that, in its finger-picking, reminded me of "Just Like Tivoli") S.O.S If Wishes Were Horses Look For the Child chosen One Ashes to Ashes Feed the Fire (tribute version) When the Rain Came Down Happy performed first of the three artists, and frankly I felt bad for the other two for having to follow her on stage. I later decided that Terami and Emm were different enough from Happy that they didn't need to be following Happy; they were simply doing their own sets...and besides, they both held their own....as much as anything can against that voice. Great show, for a great cause. jeff (who now must collapse into bed) ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V9 #254 **************************
