Sage's sound is dark, strong, and sensual folk-noir that fuses components of classical music with contemporary folk and rock influences. In its review of Public Record, the Village Voice called the disc "lovely and literate ...socially aware and eclectic." Rachael is currently featured in the latest issue of Keyboard Magazine, which asserts "There's an elusive but unmistakable New York vibe to Sage's music....stay a few bars and listen." Public Record is the fifth release for Sage who has won several songwriting awards, including Grand Prize at the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and First Place at the Great American Song Contest. Most recently she was selected as a Finalist in the 2003 Newport Follk Festival New Artist Search, and is currently touring the East Coast in support of her new CD. Dean is the Governor of Vermont and a 2004 Presidential Candidate. With any luck there won't be too much overlap between the end time of the afternoon Substance show and the beginning of the Virt show. She is releasing, so far only in Europe, in Oct a double CD but that is mostly songs from all the previous CDs (a new song or =), includes songs from SuperPinkyMandy, which has not been available for a long, long time. If she is releasing something else, I would love to know about it. BTW...Heather Nova is releasing a new CD too. Comes out next week in Europe and I not sure about when it is scheduled for release in the US but can be purchased from Amazon. I have heard very favorable things about this new Cd titled "Storm". All her US fans have been hoping for a US tour but it seems that she is going to have a baby and touring over here will be put on hold.:-( sherry ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 22 Aug 2003 17:33:46 -0400 From: DanStark <2003.carnivore99@verizon.net> Subject: Re: FW: NIGC - Women of Substance Pop Series Oops, sorry I guess I posted the wrong date for NYC based on bad info that was sent to me.
