[Andrew Fries ] More Over the Rhine news (including new tour dates) [Michael Curry Subject: ot: jon brion. i thought that others might find this new york times article about brion interesting. it discusses his career, along with his work (and friendships) with both fiona apple and aimee mann. i'm so thrilled to hear fiona is recording. "when the pawn ..." may have been a 'commercial disappointment' but, for me, it remains a record of incredible force and emotion no matter how many times i listen to it (and i listen to it often, i confess): http://www.nytimes.com/2003/08/17/magazine/17BRION.html heidi. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 16 Aug 2003 12:41:09 -0700 From: cyo@landoftheblind.com Subject: Re: etree.org??? andrew, I'll answer, I must be out of it, I have no idea what you are talking about. No money ever changes hand's here at etree. We have four mailinglist's in place. [snip] Etree ONLY distributes and allows the trading of concert recordings of bands that allow trading of their concerts. " So as an artist, the only thing you have to do, really, is let it be known you allow such recording, and wait :) I know some people on Ecto are interested in making live recordings, so it shouldn't take too long... Perhaps once someone takes you up on the offer, it would be even better if you could help them to get a decent quality recording, ideally I suppose by letting them to plug into the mixing desk... I suppose etree's mailing list might be another place to announce your taping policy ... And of course there is nothing to stop you from making such a recording and uploading it into etree server yourself, but I yet have to find out what exactly that would involve. It *is* a community project, so it can't be too difficult... Oh yeah, and make sure you don't sign anything that would pass the ownership of your music to some company :) - --------------------------------------------------------------------- "Grrr...Arrgh!" -- Mutant - -- 09:27:27 up 21 days, 22:39, 3 users, load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00-- ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 16 Aug 2003 22:19:25 -0400 From: Michael Curry Subject: More Over the Rhine news (including new tour dates) >Date: Sat, 16 Aug 2003 12:01:11 -0400 >To: over-the-rhine-announce@actwin.com >From: OTRhine@aol.com >Subject: Regarding OHIO > >OHIO - Review > >"We believe ourselves to be mortal, just as a madman believes himself to be >God."
