It's a beautiful, brooding, heartbreaking album, given extra resonance by her premature death. Hard to believe she was only 15 when she made it -- it has the depth and grace of someone twice her age. I understand that she made a second, more rock- orientated album, but the label didn't release it. Maybe they will now. Thanks to whoever it was (I don't have access to all my saved digests, I'm afraid) that mentioned her passing. adam k. - ------------------------------------------------ This mail sent through http://webmail.zoom.co.uk ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 31 Jul 2003 17:35:42 -0400 From: "Rod Kratochwill" Subject: Re: Help, who is this artist? I ordered the same CD, plus another one from this place in April, they charged my credit card and told me they shipped it but I never got it. It's probably too late to dispute the charge too, since I gave them over 60 days' benefit of the doubt. Dan Foghorn J. I loved "From in the Shadows" and hearing about Shelby's death made me extremely sad. I read on a webpage somewhere that there may now be a release of some previously unreleased material... - -sherlyn - -- Sherlyn Koo - sherlyn@pixelopolis.com - Sydney, Australia ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 31 Jul 2003 21:39:07 -0700 From: "William Mazur" Subject: Belated Happy birthday to KaTe Happy Birthday KaTe!!! I was listening to The Sensual World earlier this evening. What a great CD! It's one of her sleeper CDs for me. My favorites are Hounds of Love and The Dreaming. ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V9 #217 **************************
