Standout tracks: Dead End, Broken Arrow, Something so Beautiful, Higher Ground, Distill, Laika, Breathe Again. Her voice has been compared quite frequently to Paula Cole's... well-produced album with 9 of the songs with a full band and the last 5 songs on the album are acoustic and very sparse (guitar, some bass, some electric guitar). www.kylerengland.com jessica - ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- jessica weiser :: singer/songwriter www.jessicaweiser.com - NEW album available now! ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 23 Jul 2003 06:20:31 -0700 (PDT) From: anna maria "stjärnell" Subject: hi Hi.. Our friends at CDBaby are now making it possible for people to sell their music on Apple's iTunes Music Store through them. The artist pays a $40 set-up cost (per album). CDBaby keeps 9% of what is generated by the sale of the tracks on iTunes, sending 91% on to the artist. Full details are at: http://cdbaby.net/dd This looks like quite an excellent opportunity for independent artists to be listed on this service. I'd certainly be happy to get a recommendation of an artist from y'all and be able to go to iTunes and immediately pay a buck to get a download of the song to see if I like it. /nm ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 23 Jul 2003 13:30:22 -0700 From: "Bill" Subject: Anouk? I think you're wrong. The way that I'm reading the site, if an artist pays their US$40 to get put in the iTunes store, they will be put there. I'm not seeing anything on the site that makes me think that CDBaby only might make the songs/albums available to Apple, or that Apple could decide not to include those songs/albums. /nm ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 23 Jul 2003 19:30:09 -0700 (PDT) From: Neb Rodgers Subject: David Sylvian touring with King Crimson? Here below is an excerpt from an interview with David Sylvian that I found at the 'Innerviews' site - http://www.innerviews.org/news.htm . I sure hope this tour comes to pass, and that it journeys somewhere within reasonable driving distance for me (I'm in central NC). This would be one of my dream concert lineups come true! - -Neb .................................................... Innerviews: Given the portability of the show, do you think youll bring the tour to the States? Sylvian: It wouldnt have been possible previously, but Robert [Fripp] asked us if wed support a forthcoming King Crimson tour, so I thought that would be a good opportunity and I think Im gonna do that. Its the first time Ive really played a supporting role, but because its Robert and because its Crimson, I think it could work, so Im going to give it a try. I think that tour is penned for late October. - -- __________________________________________________________ Sign-up for your own FREE Personalized E-mail at Mail.com http://www.mail.com/?sr=signup CareerBuilder.com has over 400,000 jobs. I have seen Terami play live several times (twice at my own home) and she does indeed get better every time, even though I never think it's possible. I can't say enough good things about her and her music. She's a fantastic musician and a great person. Love her to pieces :) Kevin is pretty amazing as well. He does some really funky things with that sequencer (or whatever it is...too technical for me). If any of you ever get a chance to see her live do it. You won't be disappointed. I only wish I could see her play more often. Terami put on an outstanding show. The best wed ever seen her perform. She was performing with her partner Kevin. Terami plays piano and sings. Kevin adds all kinds of cool electronic/techo textures to Teramis songs. Terami is a really interesting songwriter. The stories in her songs are unique and come from a very heartfelt place. Terami played many of our favorites such as Stained, The River, Raising the Dead and Madeline. Terami also introduced a number of new songs last night which are all excellent. She is working on a new CD release. Her songwriting has really grown. One of her new songs entitled Astronaut is really amazing. Terami comes from the Tori school of female piano playing singer songwriters. However, it seems like Terami is beginning to transcend her influences and is finding a solid voice of her own. It is obvious that her consistent touring has made her a much stronger performer. Each time we see her she just gets better and better. The GVC was full last night. Many who came to see Terami were old friends and fans. However, there were quite a few new converts as well judging by the number of CDs that were being sold. Terami seemed surprised and pleased that she was called back for two encores. At the end of the night she said with a smile, Thats it. Youve heard my complete repertoire. Billi and I first met Terami last December when she played on the same house concert bill with Vienna. The house concert was at Phil (Hudson) and Cheryls place in San Francisco. Terami and Vienna are friends. We have seen them play together several times since then. Terami is heading for the East Coast next month. She mentioned that she will be doing a RAINN benefit show with Emm Gryner in Philadelphia. She will also be playing other dates on the East Coast as well. When she sends out a newsletter announcement I will forward it to the list(s). I highly encourage you folks on the East Coast to check Terami out. She is a really sweet and genuine person who deserves support. First and foremost, she is a wonderful singer/songwriter and performer. I am sure that many of you would really enjoy her music. They want $8.99 for international orders... for one CD. I don't think the US Postal Rates have gone up that much, have they? (One reason I love CDBaby is because their international shipping rates are very reasonable.) Ellen ===== "Literature stops in 1100.
