Has anyone else here got a 'Copy Controlled' edition of Goldfrapp's Black Cherry? I'd be interested in knowing what it does and doesn't play on. My experiences: Plays on average seperates CD player just fine. Doesn't play or rip or even appear to exist under Windows 2000. Plays just fine using xmms on Linux. Rips just fine using cdparanoia. Mounts fine using cdfs, nothing seems unusual in any way. Portable minidisc wont record from CD using optical connection. Clearly their 'copy control' is an annoyance more than copy protection. I really should write to the label and let them know my thoughts. Bye for now. I put up 4 songs here, and also in the Happy thread. http://pub3.ezboard.com/fthehomegroundandkatebushnewsandinfoforumfrm9.showMessage?topicID=80.topic I'll probably be taking them down soon, so if you want to hear Happy covering Peter Gabriel and Freddie Mercury, an early version of "Many Worlds Are Born Tonight" (then called "Jork") and "Lay Me Down" live, better get while the gettin's good. I didn't tweak the audio at all, but they still sound pretty good, to my ears. Vickie ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 19 May 2003 18:44:35 -0400 From: "Joanna M. Johanna -- the artist who created this "enchanted world of drawings and paintings" featuring the "rock-and-roll ballerina" -- has been a fan of Stevie Nicks since she heard "Edge of Seventeen" at age 16. She's created stationery, bookmarks, and tambourines with Stevie's likeness, as well as prints, both black-and-white and color. But Johanna's prized portraits section has to be considered the most remarkable aspect of this site. For a fee, she will create a piece of artwork that features you and Stevie in a setting of your choice. Fellow fan Amanda chose an angelic theme, while Kim decided to spend a star-kissed night with the "sister of the moon." If you're having a hard time picking a theme for your shared portrait, a few minutes with a Stevie jigsaw puzzle might just be what the rock-and-roll gypsy ordered.
