Go see the show if you are there. LARISSA DALLE is great. She used to be super goth girl and now she's all cowgirl alt folk country. My best friend STEPHANIE is in her band. If you see her tell her IRVIN says "hi." she'll be the non LARISSA DALLE female in the group. She'll probably freak. Damn. I'm in ST. LOUIS, but leave DEC 29. Just my luck. Oh well. I've sort of ignored KRISTEEN YOUNG even though she's become rather well known on this list. I liked her with her earlier band stuff back when she was a local in ST. LOUIS, but other local band friends said she was really quite snooty to them, which sort of turned me off to her. Oh well. I probably should check her out again, but my taste have shifted so much now from back then that I am not so sure if I would like her anyway. Irvin (who is actually looking to going back to the MIDWEST for the holidays. Go figure). PS. Not to start another BUFFY thread, but in that last episode (spoiler if you haven't seen it yet..........) did anyone think that GILES might actually not be GILES but instead was THE FIRST EVIL? Just wondering. All the people on the boards on the web keep on posting that GILES was dead and that it was THE FIRST EVIL impersonating him. I didn't think it, but they got me wondering.... ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 20 Dec 2002 06:32:07 -0500 From: "Michael Colford" Subject: Re: KRISTEEN YOUNG, ST. LOUIS, and BUFFY > PS. Yeah, I thought so. Not that I think they would have the guts to actually kill Giles, but it certainly looks like they're hinting at that. The way they went out of their way NOT to explain what happened to him, and the way Giles made a point of saying that the First Evil could only take the form of people who have died. He was also behaving in a very un-Giles like manner. Guess we'll just have to wait and see. Michael n.r. He didn't touch anybody, and Buffy didn't get a chance to hug him because he backed off to let the Slayer-ettes in the door. He hasn't even personally looked at any of the books that he was having the one girl carry for him. I'm actually a little disappointed at how obviously they've set it up, because I think Buffy and Willow would both immediately think something was up if they couldn't give him a hug, he didn't help Buffy up when she fell down the Nasty Vamp hole, etc.. Though there have been cases where they haven't noticed stuff because they have a blind spot about their friends. The big question is, who is the principal? My boyfriend speculates he's God (i.e., First Good as the direct and appropriate opponent to the First Evil). I'm leaning toward Agent of Good (angel-type thing). - -Kat ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 20 Dec 2002 18:31:43 +0100 From: Leon van Stuivenberg Subject: fwd: dar fyi, via "verticalresponse.com" Hello Dar Williams fans, This is your invitation to join The DARmy! I am away from my home computer for the Holidays while I visit out of town, so I'm without my normal computer resources at my fingertips that might have allowed me to avoid doing this. The news that is to come is sort of time sensitive, so I wanted alert as many fans as possible now...thanks in advance for your understanding ...Alan Roos **************************************************************** Hey all...great news from The North Pole -- Emil Adler, Marina Belica, and Julie Flanders have recorded the classic Christmas Carol Silent Night for all of us to enjoy leading up to and beyond December the 25th. The ladies, with Emil accompanying on piano laid down the track a short while back. "Professor" Adler then retired to his musical laboratory along with Santa's elves to apply a fine "shammy" to the song. The result is a wonderful Holiday keepsake for all Project fans to treasure for years to come. Simply go to the new OP band website address at www.octoberproject.NET and burn yourself a copy.(or just enjoy a quick listen if that's your pleasure.) I'm writing this to "y'all" from down here in North Carolina where I am visiting my family from Cape Cod until just after Christmas -- I hope this e-mail finds all of you happy, safe and warm nestled among your friends and loved ones! Be well...Alan Roos p.s.- It's also my understanding that certain "Project-friendly" FM radio stations should have received their CD single of Silent Night by now. If I'm not mistaken these outlets would be WXPN in Philadelphia, WDST in Woodstock(NY), WRNR in Annapolis, WXRV in Haverhill(MA, Boston Area), WRSI in Northampton(MA, Springfield area), WFUV in New York City, and WITR in Rochester(NY). Rumor also has it that WBER in the Rochester NY area is already spinning this song! :-) If the spirit moves you and the flesh is willing please call and request Silent Night on these stations request lines, or even better call and leave positive feedback on the Program and/or Music Director's voice mail!
