But then i realized he was talking about UPN. While, yes, woowoo for UPN saving Buffy and all, I'm not a fan of the network in general. I can't quite pinpoint it, but I think some of it has to do with the crappy 'next week's show' previews that they've been doing this past season. They've just been way too hokey, like Buffy is some sort of weak action comedy along the lines of She Spies. I wonder how they'd handle having several futuristic sci-fi shows along with Star Trek on their slate? I want my Susan Werner fix! I've been slowly getting into Gilmore Girls this year (thanks to the reruns of the first season on Sundays), and in catching the first part of tonight's episode, I was quite surprised to hear Rory and Lane mention Young Marble Giants while going through some recent cd purchases. The people on that show are pretty music savvy, what with Sam Phillips doing the incidental music/la la las, XTC and Grant Lee Phillips songs showing up all over the place, and the Girls going to see a Bangles concert. wow. this post was so unnecessary. Except the "historicals" from Wall To Wall: 1900 House, 1940s House, Edwardian Country House, and Frontier House. All but the Edwardian have been shown on PBS (after originally airing on Channel 4 in the UK). Each of them will touch your life, which is the way reality TV could have gone, instead of the pathetic airhead spectacles produced in the US. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 16 Dec 2002 09:08:30 -0800 (PST) From: kitty kat Subject: Re: *sigh* Firefly cancelled There is an organized campaign to help keep firefly afloat, located at http://fireflysupport.com/ On Sun, 15 Dec 2002, Michael Curry wrote: > I'm both disgusted and unsurprised by this. I saw on Jorane's website that she's supposed be have concert broadcast on the Bravo channel tomorrow night at eight, but the channel's schedule doesn't list it. I guess I'll set the tape just in case.... Oh, anyone who likes Jorane should check out Leah Coloff's wonderful cd 'Dark Sweet Heart'. It's a Montreal Jazz Festival special, and judging by the description in the TV listings at Canada.com, it looks like the entire hour will feature Jorane. Nice.
