But first a couple show announcements... Dec. 7 Chicago, IL Abbey Pub w/ Ike Reilly and ManPlanet (we're first at 9:30) - we're going to try to mix up the set list a bit for this! Dec. 14 Detroit, MI (Hamtramck, MI actually) Small's w/ Longwave (from Brooklyn). 9pm doors, 18+. 10339 Conant in Hamtramck. 313 873 1117. I have one or two guestlist spots available for this show if someone wants to put up lots (say 30 or so) of flyers for us! Ok, so news. First of all most of you know the Kill Rock Stars comp (w/ Yeah yeah yeahs, erase errata, quasi, mary timony etc.) is already out. Now, the Vietnam Veteran's Benefit comp is our and it's so great! It's all indie rock bands covering songs from the Vietnam era and it's a benefit CD to boot (hence the name, duh). It's got Q and not U, J Robbins (from Jawbox and Burning Airlines), Enon, Death Cab for Cutie, Ted Leo and a ton more (including one from us!). It's really great. The Thick Records comp (w/ Alkaline Trio, Lawrence Arms, Plain White T's, Local H, Bob Nanna from Braid/Hey MErcedes) should be out in a couple months. Second, the Reputation yahoo listserve is pretty crazily active - from copyright law to race politics to tons of other bands to, oh yeah, us. Don't worry, if you don't want to get a ton of e-mail you can sign up for special notice or digest version (what I get - comes like once every day or two). Plus I just posted a TOUR DIARY from our recent East Coast tour and the only way to see it is to join the listserve. Listserve members have actually started meeting each other around the country which is cool. There was a pre-show dinner in boston which Sean and I joined and there's been talk of trying to do a special T-shirt or holiday single or the reputation shot glasses. 4 members have also been archiving _all_ the old live sarge recordings, solo recordings, and reputation recordings. The only place any old stuff will really be made available is throught the listserve. Anyway, it's a great group of smart, opinionated, fun people. Third, lots and lots of updates have been made to the website. There's a releases section, updated info on the band, updated links and most importantly, lots and lots of updated pictures. A whole bunch more pictures will be posted tomorrow (Friday) and a "photographers" section featuring sets of pictures that different people have (god bless em') done for us pro bono. Please check it out and send business their way if you're so inclined. Finally, my big news. I'll actually be returning to law school next semester to complete one of my two remaining semesters. Basically, my law school administration (who is so incredibly wonderful - they post rock articles about us on the school website) has given me 2 years to finish my degree but they're letting me split it up into sections. So I'll go to school spring semester, we'll record a record in May (if we actually ever have any new songs), it'll come out in September and we'll tour like crazy all next year. We'll record a 3rd record Sept. of 2004, I'll return to school Fall 2004 for my final semester, 3rd record will come out in Jan. 2005 and we'll go from there. Ha! This is actually hysterical b/c I don't even know how I'm going to make it through the next month much less 3 years from now! Anyway, just letting everyone know that this will _not_ affect the band and we're still going strong. We'll be doing sxsw and the west coast over my spring break (last half of March) and we'll be doing two 5-day east coast trips between the end of January and the beginning of March. We'll also continue to do as much regional stuff as possible! So basically, don't hate me if I'm less social at shows for a bit cuz I'll probably be studying! much love eliz and the Reputation - ----- End forwarded message ----- ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 5 Dec 2002 16:23:45 -0500 From: Jeff Wasilko Subject: [sngmusic@earthlink.net: Susan McKeown & Johnny Cunningham] Susan's in Boston this weekend.
