That is pretty impressive. But I'm not surprised. JOSS really tries to map out the season before it even starts. I'm more impressed that the website had all the working titles. > Speaking of Jesse(s), it's been bugging me for a while that Norah Jones' > single "It Hasn't Been Me" sounds so much like Once Blue and Once Blue didn't > get all the hoopla that she's been getting. Jesse was the male half of Once Blue > (rebecca martin was the female half). So that explains it. No WONDER NORAH JONES sounded so familiar. That makes total sense now. I'm going to go and put on ONCE BLUE and listen to it again. Thanks for the reminder. > From: Robert Lovejoy > Subject: Re: ZOOM Joke > > My favorite hot dog joke: > > What did the buddhist say to the hot dog vendor? > > "Make me one with everything!" Ah. That was joke was featured in DEATH: THE HIGH COST OF LIVING comic miniseries. I only know that because I decided to go back and reread them on a whim recently. irvin ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 14 Nov 2002 06:06:12 -0800 (PST) From: anna maria "stjärnell" Subject: stacy briscoe Hi.. about stacy briscoe..try krono.org for info on her band. anna maria U2 on LAUNCH - Exclusive greatest hits videos http://launch.yahoo.com/u2 ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 14 Nov 2002 06:07:52 -0800 (PST) From: anna maria "stjärnell" Subject: stacy again.. My apologies! This is especially naughty of me because I believe the Net is only worth anything if it is platform-independent. I always protest against things like proprietary protocols or browser-specific sites, and remind designers that "not everybody uses Windows"! Yet here I go, doing the same thing! In fact I use Ogg Vorbis precisely because it is meant to be an open, royalty-free standard. However, it is not very well supported on Classic Mac. Let's face it, there isn't a lot of development happening for Classic Mac any more, now that Apple moved completely to MacOSX... Anyhow, I recoded my samples as mp3s. Don't give up the ship... the full version of Audion 3, which is also available for us Classic users (with CarbonLibraries installed) _does_ do Vorbis... and does it quite well, as I discovered.... http://www.panic.com/ Just make sure you hurry to buy it, just in case. FWIW, I'm one of those staying Classic (in part because my machine's an Old World Mac - a PowerMac G3 MiniTower to be exact), in part because some of the programs I use aren't yet available for OS X. Toss in some of the bugs that came with Apple's new sweetheart, and... (I can't vouchsafe for Jaguar, however - right now I can't afford it, with the holidays coming up.) But at least I can do OGG just fine in 9. (Alright, 9.2.2.) That was on a G3 beige Mac running MacOS 8.6 - that's when I stopped upgrading! But the point is, Audion costs money and at this point I would certainly hate to spend money on software for a platform that is going the way of the dodo. (I mean Mac Classic, not Apple Mac in general. You know I'm a big fan of Apple) And with the demise of MacAmp there are no free tools for Classic that could play oggs. Which is a shame, as Ogg Vorbis is all about free access! - --------------------------------------------------------------------- "In the struggle of Good against Evil, it's always the people who get killed." -- Eduardo Galeano - -- 15:36:55 up 9 days, 19:58, 1 user, load average: 0.07, 0.03, 0.01-- ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V8 #319 **************************
