I don't know how many of you followed my urgent advice two years back and tracked down the wonderful album by Kaitlyn ni Donovan, _Songs for 'three days'_. Well, she has a lot more material and is looking for a new label, as her previous one wasn't so good with promotion and getting her disc out there so people could find out about it. She certainly is willing to play out and all, but doesn't really want to go it entirely alone. Does anyone have any ideas about labels she should try? I think her music is lovely--both edgy and beautiful--and she has a gorgeous voice. If you haven't heard it, I do highly recommend you check out her disc. She has a page on The Ectophiles' Guide at http://www.ectoguide.org/guide.cgi?artists/ni.donovan.kaitlyn Anyway, please let me know any ideas you have that I could pass on to her. Nothing for absolutely ages then two come along at once! Looking forward to seeing Alison Moyet at the Bridgewater Hall in earthquake torn Manchester this Sunday. If we do get any shakes during the show it shouldn't cause any problems as the entire building is built on huge springs which dampen any outside noise and vibration. Cool or what! From NME.com - Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds have confirmed details of a new album "Nocturama." The album, the follow-up to 'No More Shall We Part' is released on February 3, 2003 via Mute. The album will feature 10 tracks, including the forthcoming single Bring It On, released on February 17. The album has been recorded this year at SingSing studios in Melbourne by the Bad Seeds line up of Nick Cave, Mick Harvey, Blixa Bargeld, Thomas Wydler, Martyn Casey, Conway Savage, Jim Sclavunos and Warren Ellis. On December 1st, she opens for Billy Bragg at the Shepherds Bush Empire, with tickets at whopping #17.50. I booked mine before the next date was announced, December 2nd at Bush Hall, a venue I'm not familiar with, but which sounds much more interesting. It's a gig just for her, the Bush Hall only seats 250 people, and tickets are only a tenner. Meanwhile, in this week's Time Out, "1000 Kisses" is given a rave review, apparently released over here by Sanctuary. The critic, Ross Fortune, makes some mistakes, calling it her third album and claiming there are two unreleased ones, but it's a stunning review, and hopefully a sign of things to come -- recognition over here. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 24 Oct 2002 13:14:02 -0400 From: dances with virgos Subject: over the rhine nov/dec tour dates >We finally have our itinerary (99%) nailed down for December, and we wanted >to get that to you pronto.
