I got out just in time. The only worthwhile music on the label was Abandoned Pools. Laura Dawn did record a cover of "If You're Going to San Francisco" for the new David E. Kelley show 'girls club' but I don't know if they're going to use it. Anyways, yeah, that's what happens when you have an ex-girlfriend who has the IQ of a lemon and a fitness trainer as the heads of the company. I just wish that I had taken some of the equipment when I left the studio. Seems rather pointless. I saw Tori at the MCI Center. It worked surprisingly well, though without the intimacy of the smaller show I saw at the Austin Opera House. - -- | josephzitt@josephzitt.com http://www.josephzitt.com/ | | http://www.metatronpress.com/jzitt/ http://www.mp3.com/josephzitt/ | | == New book: Surprise Me with Beauty: the Music of Human Systems == | | Comma / Gray Code Silence: the John Cage Discussion List | ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 18 Sep 2002 19:18:50 -0400 From: meredith Subject: Re: Tori tourdates! Hi, Jeffy commented: >I really can't imagine why anybody would want to see Tori in a basketball >arena. Seems rather pointless. I know what you mean. If anyone on the East Coast is looking for a somewhat smaller venue in which to see Tori, she's playing at the Oakdale in Wallingford, CT on November 16. Tickets go on sale next Saturday, the 28th. The Oakdale has great sound and (unless you're stuck way in the back of the balcony) no bad seats. ============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth ============================================== Live At The House O'Muzak House Concert Series http://muzak.smoe.org NEXT UP: Annie Gallup, Saturday, 9/28 at 8 pm ============================================== ------------------------------ Date: 19 Sep 2002 12:39:07 +1000 From: andrew fries Subject: Re: OT-Looking for the work that's looking for me On Wed, 2002-09-18 at 04:35, Joseph Zitt wrote: > I'm fortunate to have relatively low expenses (by Bay Area > standards), but need to make enough to cover them. Heh, what you describe in your message sounds like a perfect job, if I knew of one I wouldn't tell you - I'd just grab it for myself! The only insight I can offer is this: have you considered taking on a job like the one above, fulfilling most of your criteria except profitability, and supplementing it with another, perhaps far less skilled and rewarding, but providing some income? Pizza delivery, strip-a-gram, singing at the weddings - anything, just as long as it brings some cash. After all, this is a pretty common way of life for many (possibly even most) artists...
