Hmmm, maybe I should revise what I said: > (though, please please Mother Nature, not > until after "Return of the King" is released!) Make that ...until after "Star Wars, Episode III: Unnamed, but everybody's going to hate the name anyway so it doesn't matter what George calls it" is released. That means I get to see the end of the saga, moves the Apocolypse to 2004, allows for the releases of "The Two Towers," the two Matrix sequels, and "Return of the King" *and* it proves those wackos wrong! As a bonus we might even get a couple more Coen Brothers films, a couple more Happy Rhodes albums and, if she gets off her baby-making, garden-tending butt, a new one by Kate Bush! (not holding my breath on that one though). V np: Komeda "Happyment" I really hate these Yahoo ads tacked onto the end of posts. Yahoo! I thought you hit the nail on the head the first time and was grateful someone did. I wouldn't have been as polite as you were. Religious zealotry was to blame for the attacks and a different brand of zealotry is just more exclusionary dogma. Reading Kristen's presumptuous initial post, I couldn't help thinking, this is exactly why so many people around the world hate Americans. They speak as though their beliefs are facts. To quote someone who's touched most all of us.... "Imagine no religion..." As for Buffy.... I'll continue to delete any posts with that subject line without bothering to open them. Earl J. Anemone - Mia Sheard MIA SHEARD'S latest CD, ANEMONE, is getting some attention, it got 4 stars in TOronto's NOW magazine .. she plays in Toronto on Saturday at the Rivoli on Queen St W~ tom here is the review: MIA SHEARD - ANEMONE - - NNNN Mia Sheard could make the Tim Hortons jingle sound like an otherworldly invocation to the gods. The local singer-songwriter has a gift for phrasing and a great voice -- it wraps itself like a boa constrictor around fragmented, even ugly melodies, spanning an awesome range and squeezing out a shimmering beauty. Those pipes are put to good use on Anemone. Sheard rocks out more here than she did on the earlier Reptilian, and her quivering, shivering soprano burbles out from underwater depths of feedback-heavy electric guitar. There's definitely more bite on this disc, possibly because it's Sheard's first since her breakup with producer/partner Michael Philip Wojewoda. But her co-production credits on Anemone and the cohesive strength of the album prove that Sheard's a considerable artistic force on her own.
