However, yesterday I learned of more dates. I bought the first two tickets on sale for the Portsmouth show yesterday. (I have moved, and London shows, alas, aren't as easy any longer.) Please note the dates were forwarded to me American style (month/date/year). 8/1/2002 Wedgewood Rooms Portsmouth England 8/2/2002 Dranouter Festival Dranouter Belgium 8/3/2002 Union Chapel London England 8/4/2002 Cambridge Festival Cambridge England 8/6/2002 Queens Hall Edinburgh Scotland 8/7/2002 University Liverpool England 8/8/2002 Ambassador Dublin Ireland After a long drought, this is the third time they've played over here this year. (those of you with sharp memories may recall susan telling the story of writing that song on the bus while going to boston for that concert, so that was the first ever performance of the song!) woj ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 20 Jun 2002 19:57:53 -0400 From: meredith Subject: Re: Susan McKeown on WUMB Wednesday 19th Hi, woj noted: >susan was late getting to the studio (stuck in traffic) so the deejay >played "chances area" from a live performance she had done for wumb a few >years ago. Actually, she said in the interview that the appearance where she wrote the song en route was a different (obviously earlier) one. The one that was played was from a "members only" concert on WUMB, where she had at least Jon Spurney with her. I believe the first-ever performance was during a solo interview much like the one yesterday. ============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth ============================================== Live At The House O'Muzak House Concert Series http://www.smoe.org/meth/muzak.html ============================================== ------------------------------ Date: 21 Jun 2002 12:27:56 +1000 From: andrew fries Subject: Re: Susan McKeown on WUMB Wednesday 19th On Fri, 2002-06-21 at 04:11, guapo stick wrote: > for those of you who wanted to hear this and missed it, check out these mp3s: > > http://smoe.org/woj/Susan_McKeown-2002-06-19_WUMB_Live_at_Noon.mp3 > > http://smoe.org/woj/Susan_McKeown-WUMB_Member_Concert-Chances_Are.mp3 I just wanted to say a quick THANK YOU to woj for making these mp3s available to us! - --------------------------------------------------------------------- "The earth has enough for everyone's needs, but not for some people's greed." - Gandhi - -- 12:25pm up 18 days, 17:10, 3 users, load average: 0.10, 0.09, 0.42-- ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V8 #172 **************************
