I've never seen Beth live and have wanted to for years. But there's something about me and live shows and threes. It took me 3 tries to see the Indigo Girls. I was supposed to see Beth at Lilith Fair one year, but she got sick and didn't play our stop. Then I was supposed to see her in NYC, but I ended up in the hospital a few days before the concert. Could Summerstage be the lucky third try? I've never been and was wondering if it is a just-show-up thing, or do you need tickets? I know some free things still require tickets. Depending on the show, they might or might not have seats set up. I seem to remember that the ground is covered with some sort of dark, artificial flooring (maybe astroturf?). I've only been to evening concerts, but it might be beastly hot in the afternoon. You can get all of the info at summerstage.org. - --Valerie ____________________________________________ JoAnn Whetsell wrote: > > Wow! I've never seen Beth live and have wanted to for years. As far as recomending one album, I can't, buy them all, and go to every incident (concert) you can. There is such a sense of community that it is hard to explain, almost like the Grateful Dead shows. Do any of you musically knowledgeable people know anything of the band 'String Cheese Incident?' I downloaded some mp3 of them to see what a band with such a silly name sounds like and I like what I hear. 'Acoustic trance' with elements of Bluegrass, and I like a bit of Bluegrass, Blues and Rock 'n' Roll. Very cool. Their official site, stringcheeseincident.com is Flash only. Boo! http://www.friendsofcheese.com/ has more accessable facts but I'm looking for recomendations of albums and first-hand comments and the like. Anyone? n.p. Actually, it should be the easiest to get: it was released by Image Entertainment (http://www.image-entertainment.com/ ) - hence its turning up at Borders, among other places. I don't remember if it's Region 1 coded, though. Definitely NTSC only.
