It turned out to be Weeping Tile's High Way from their Cold Snap album. And the album did end up staying in my CD-player :) - -- Yngve n.p. Weeping Tile - Cold Snap n.r. I've had all this stuff, including the bonus tracks, for years, but it never sounded better. It's a UK import but its not too pricey. It's at CDNOW for $13.99, I think. Its a must have for any Sandy Denny fans and she and Thompson are on every track. Among the bonus tracks, you'll hear her perform live (in studio) versions of "Autopsy" and "Tam Lin" that rank among the most astounding recorded performances of her career. Both are beyond words... If only they could take that to an extreme in all walks of life. I'm sorry sir, you haven't paid for the privelage of viewing that billboard. Until you do, we will keep it cloaked. Free spam? Hi, Cyoakha Grace here, from LAND OF THE BLIND. I need help. I am planning a large concert and dance in August. I have been talking to Black Box, a small cool "non club" in downtown Oakland, (holds 250) about a concert for the Trees while Wendy Rule from Australia is here with me in August. I have been wanting to make something like this happen for quite a while, I had hoped for this Earthday, but then I got the Treesit movie thing and dance up at Harbin, plus I knew it wasn't enough time to pull something big together. The owner of BB, Laura, is being very cool about the money, she needs to make $800 per week-night and is willing to take a $300 gamble on the selling of booze to our listeners, so that leaves $500. She is also willing, because of it being a benefit, to split the door, which could give us a lot to give to NC EarthFrist and Redwood Mary and front line fighting groups. I am imagining a sliding scale of $15 to $10 with some creative ideas for card-carrying activists to sign up over the internet through Save the Redwoods and EarthFirst, so I could compile a list of names and let those folks in for $10, as sort of an recognition of their work. I also want to feature artists who are Witches, Earth-based singers/performers from the heart!!etc...who are truly caring of the land, yet excellent professionals, I don't want a folk/protest kinda night (nothing against them, but I want a great concert of great acts that everyone will be enchanted with and dance to) Also thinking about contacting a few people besides Wendy's band and mine, perhaps even a good female dj (you know who you are girlfriend)that plays mellow world dance at the end of the night (NO DISCO MAN). Any suggestions on local artists or nationals that are on tour, with a known soft leftist spot in their hearts. help! But not interested in any dark, heavy, punk, or cabaret' stuff, real ecto, earthy but eco also. I see it as a woman-night but I am certainly not sexist and if some wonderful performer happens to be male, blessed be. The Ecto community is into dreamy music (but not New Age) Thinking that between the Pagan community that would love to see Wendy, the Earth and activist communities that would want to have fun and dance to THE BLIND plus get a deal and know the benefit is for them, and the ecto "it will be a good concert with lots of special female singers" community, and the Butterfly Musicians for Peace group, that we can fill the place, as I will not have tons of advertising money either. But, there is still the other $500. I myself still do not have that laying around, (being a full time musician working on obscure soundtracks and recording strange also obscure world music), the $500 is the guarantee for the club, so my idea is to look for 5 sponsors for $100 each for this great concert to happen. I think this is not much, they would get recognition from us, from ads and flyers as sponsors. Anyone have any ideas? I am trying to play up at Harbin with the Ancient Ways folks, which since it is in June, we can tell folks, hand out flyers for all the pagans to gather again in August. Firedance, unfortunately, is after the time I want, the first week of August. Of course, I need to move fast, as those dates will fill up soon. So, if you have any suggestions as to some sponsors, good folks with more generous pockets and less time than me, please let me know. All the performers will be volunteer, they will only make CD sales, (I am thinking about special editions for the night, CDRs or something different to sell for those ecos that have all of the singers works already, so it works for the performer also) I will do the food for free, I will do the publicity also, but cannot shoulder the whole burden. I know that if I shell out the $500 and then make $800 that only gives me $300 to give to these groups, so it becomes silly in my mind, save myself the trouble and stress and just give them the $500!!! (I remember THE BLIND traveling down from Portland to Redway for a benefit for the trees and raising about $300, which is what we spent and lost getting there) I thought, there has got to be a better way, which is sharing the burden amongst others who feel the same way. To have a great celebration of really GOOD music, get some press, have a fun time and give away some money to those really doing the fighting. Seems so simple. Any ideas? Please send names and phone numbers and I will be the begging dog caller. thank you all for your help, love, cyoakha O'Manion Music PO Box 198 Mill Valley, CA 94941 cyo@landoftheblind.com http://www.landoftheblind.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 28 Mar 2002 22:49:29 -0700 From: Neal Copperman Subject: Sinead sampler A friend of mine recently discovered Sinead O'Connor.
