It just so happens that Sloan Wainwright is going to be playing at The Metro that night, too. (I can't wait to see her face when I show up there. Hee!) Any Chicago ectophiles planning on going to see Sloan? The play is at 5 pm and the show doesn't start until 11:30, so I'm going to have some time to kill that evening too, if anyone is interested in dinner too/instead. Also, if someone could fill me in on the very-late-night public transportation situation around there, I'd appreciate it. The Metro is way up on North Clark (3700 block), and I'm going to be staying at the Days Inn further down on North Clark (1800 block). Is it possible to get taxis after midnight around there? ======================================= Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth ======================================= Live At The House O'Muzak House Concert Series http://www.smoe.org/meth/muzak.html ======================================= (: New England Patriots - Super Bowl XXXVI CHAMPIONS :) ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 17 Mar 2002 21:53:02 -0500 From: Michael Curry Subject: Fwd: Dadaphonic-Cranes Newsletter March 2002 Cranes US tour news...... >Date: Mon, 18 Mar 2002 02:27:32 GMT >From: cranes@cranes-fan.com >Subject: Dadaphonic-Cranes Newsletter March 2002 > >Dadaphonic-Cranes Newsletter March 2002 > >Cranes U.S. Tour ! > >We are really happy to let you know that the new Cranes tour for North >America has now been confirmed ! The Metro is way >up on North Clark (3700 block), and I'm going to be staying at the Days Inn >further down on North Clark (1800 block). Is it possible to get taxis >after midnight around there? easy - the CTA 22 bus runs all night, though I think 30 minutes apart later. I think there's a northbound stop across the street from your hotel, and a southbound stop within a block. The route between the Metro and your hotel is fine to ride the bus at that hour. Much of the route is higher rent than I can afford . Yes, there are taxis up by the Metro running at that hour. The kind with their light on if they are vacant, and you wave your arm at them ... kinda like NY but not as rude. But probably Middle Eastern/non-English speaking drivers.
