Stina has a site at stinaonline.com. The new album is brief, barely half an hour but sweet. The duet with Brett from suede is cool and Lori Glory sounds like an outtake from Low by Bowie. Otherwise Stina is the same as ever maybe poppier. Anna maria Find the one for you at Yahoo! In a way, though, there's always something fascinating about a truly bad review, a morbid kind of fascination, like rubbernecking a road crash. And he is pretty funny. Pity, though, that he trots out the old myth about prog rock being the reason for punk. Very disappointing. As I was just ranting to Bill, this is one of the big lies of the music press, the revisionists who would rewrite the past. Still, I think the idea of Sarah Harmer singing a country version of "Mother" pretty neat. adam k Get your own zoom email - click here - http://www.zoom.co.uk/ ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 16 Nov 2001 11:40:02 -0500 From: Paul Blair Subject: Marianne Nowottny tomorrow night in Jersey City For those interested. And don't forget that Susan McKeown & Johnny Cunningham have a new wintery album out too: A Winter Talisman. And it has another version of Auld Lang Syne on it, if you are collecting those. This one on Signature Sounds has enough cool songs by folks I like for me to snap it up. neal np: Tainted Glass - Erika Luckett Wonderland: A Winter Solstice Celebration Here's one we're really proud of. This unique holiday CD features fifteen tracks from Signature Sounds artists, along with very special guests The Nields and Matt Haimovitz. Partial proceeds from the CD will benefit The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts. Wonderland showcases an eclectic collection of songs ranging from traditional arrangements to stunning originals, with none of the tired, overplayed holiday standards that plague many compilations. The original material includes Dave Carter & Tracy Grammer's moving "American Noel", Mark Erelli's country-swinging "Ain't No Time Of Year To be alone, Richard Shindell offers the never before released ballad "Before You Go", while Valley favorites Nerissa and Katryna Nields sing their brand new "Christmas Carol", a folk pop song as gorgeous and memorable as anything they've ever done. Covers include Peter Mulvey's stunning interpretation of Joni Mitchell's "River", Erin McKeown's funky retro take on "At the Christmas Ball" by Frank W. Longshaw (a Bessie Smith cover) and Erica Wheeler's warm reading of the Gordon Lightfoot classic "Song For A Winter's Night". This Wonderland won't be available in stores nationally until October 2002. It's on sale now at our web site for $14. You also receive a free copy of the Signature Sounds Collection Volume 5 sampler CD with any purchase from our web site.
