It looks like she's from Seattle. Willow put her in touch with us, and I've been listening to samples from her web page. It's a very strange mish-mash that I think will take a while to absorb. Sorta like Jane Siberry crossed with Lisa Germano, with occasional hints of all kinds of other people (most noticably Kate and Tori). She's got the obvious web site: http://www.jenniferterran.com Jeff and I are psyched cause we have foolishly scheduled our first back to back house concerts. We've got Annie Gallup on Sunday and Trina Hamlin on Monday. woohoo. neal np: jennifer terran sound samples ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 19 Oct 2001 18:01:07 -0600 From: "Jeffrey Hanson" Subject: Re: Jennifer Terran? I have all three of her discs...I really love the Musician (her latest) - I get one of her lyrics constantly stuck in my head incessantly :) [from mad magdeline, "there's more music than what you hear on the f***ing radio, you ignorant bastard" - obvious attack on the music industry. Her other full length Cruel is very good too but hasn't really gripped me as much. She also has an EP where on one track she sings her list of thank you's for the album - sort of like meth saying how she would appreciate Tori reading the phone book :) - -Jason n.p. K. Thought it might be of interest. It came to me via a CDNOW e-mail blast: Tori Amos has always been known for her haunting lyrics -- now you can own them in a deluxe, hardcover volume! "Tori Amos: Lyrics" captures the lyrics from every released Tori song (that's 102 songs!), including several lyrics that have never before appeared in print. Additionally, the book contains a foreword written by Tori herself, plus dozens of amazing, original illustrations by Hern Leonhard. This hardcover version is a CDNOW exclusive -- fewer than 100 remain! Don't let this amazing book pass you by. Order "Tori Amos: Lyrics" today! Tori doesn't even have to sing. She can just sit there any play the piano for a few weeks, thankyouverymuch. Speaking of whom ... Just as a "buyer beware", I have heard from Toriphiles who bought the lyrics book that it is rife with errors. Though I must admit I haven't seen it for myself. ======================================= Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth "an eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind" -- mahatma gandhi ======================================= Live At The House O'Muzak House Concert Series http://www.smoe.org/meth/muzak.html ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V7 #299 **************************
