Jose Feliciano mangled this in the '70s and he got a bit of flack for the interpretation back then but it is considered a classic now. Hi, Well, this is a bit strange, but after lots of years (5? 6? 7?) I am back on the Ecto mailing list. Not that anyone will remember me :) (although I'm shocked to see a link to my homepage still exists on the Ecto website!) Anyway, I hope it is still as friendly a place as it used to be and look forward to discovering some new music. bren, who was once Creed and who is now Dad :) ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 14 Aug 2001 09:22:30 -0400 From: strange little woj Subject: sarah harmer tour/news these haven't been added to the html-only section of sarah's site yet, but they are in the flash part. too bad she's not dragging sarah slean along with her into the rest of the northeast. :( woj >New Sarah Harmer dates: > >Wednesday, September 19 Centennial Hall with Sarah Slean >London, ON 550 Wellington Street (519) 667.9613 > Tix: $18.50 in advance @ the centennial hall > box office or call (519) 672-1967 or > www.maplemusic.com > Doors: 7pm ON SALE August 10th > >Thursday, September 20 Sean OSullivan Theatre with Sarah Slean >St. Catharines Centre For the Arts > 500 Glenridge Ave (905) 688.5550 > Tix: on sale Tuesday, Sep. 4th @ 10am $21.40 at > The Centre For The Arts box office 905 688-5550 > x3257 open Mon.-Fri. 10am - 7pm and Sat. 12-4pm > Doors: 7pm ON SALE September 4th > >Friday, September 21 Le Spectrum De Montreal with Sarah Slean >Montreal, QC 318 rue Ste, Catherine Ouest (514) 861.5851 > Tix: $17.50 available at spectrum box office or > at www.admission.com or 514.790.1245 > Doors: 7pm ON SALE August 10th > >Saturday, September 22 Water Street Music Hall with Sarah Slean >Rochester, NY 204 Water Street (716) 325.7826 > Tix: on sale August 18th @ noon > www.ticketmaster.com > Doors: 7pm ON SALE August 18th > >Monday, September 24 North Star Bar >Philadelphia, PA 2639 West Poplar Street (215) 235.7826 > www.newparkent.com > Tix: $14 @ ticketmaster.com or (215) 336.2000 or > at the Trocadero Box Office - 1003 Arch Street > (215) 922.5483 > Doors: 7pm > >Tuesday, September 25 North Star Bar >Philadelphia, PA 2639 West Poplar Street (215) 235.7826 > www.newparkent.com > Tix: $14 @ ticketmaster.com or (215) 336.2000 or > at the Trocadero Box Office - 1003 Arch Street > (215) 922.5483 > Doors: 7pm > >Wednesday, September 26 Paradise Rock Club >Boston, MA 967 Commonwealth Ave (617) 562.8800 > Tix: $12 in advance @ Orpheum Theatre box > office, select STRAWBERRIES > locations, all NEXT Ticketing locations, NEXT > www.nextticketing.com or (617) 423.NEXT > or available at the Paradise box office Monday > through Friday Noon to 6:00pm > Doors: 7pm > >Thursday, September 27 The Village Underground >New York, NY 130 West 3rd Street (212) 777.7745 x 0 > Tix: $15 at the club everyday from 1pm-8pm or at > ticketweb.com / 866.468.7619 > Doors: 7:30pm > > >There are more Canadian and US dates as well as a two-week European jaunt >to be announced very soon! > >Sarah is at the moment on the road with the Barnaked Ladies playing >throughout the US. V - --------------------------------------- Tori Amos Unveils 30-Date Tour Itinerary Aug 13, 2001, 10:55 am PT Tori Amos will hit the road solo in support of her upcoming album of cover songs Strange Little Girls starting Sept. 28 in West Palm Beach, Fla. This tour marks the first time since 1994 that Amos has played live without a band. The 30-date jaunt will play theaters and other small venues in major markets throughout North America, ending in San Diego on Nov. 20. Amos is scheduled to play Union Chapel in London on Aug. 30 as well. Rufus Wainwright is on board to support Amos on the early part of the tour for roughly a month of dates. Tickets for several of the shows will be on sale later this week in a special Internet presale for members of the Tori Amos fan club (www.toriamos.com). I want to thank the editors and reviewers for their steady work, and also those people who, in their enthusiasm for particular artists, have made Guide entries for those artists. (I also want to welcome anyone else who would like to do this. It's pretty easy.) I have a request of everyone on this list (who hasn't done so already): that anyone here who is willing to give me general blanket permission to quote their comments about artists sent to the ecto list let me know. One of the biggest time-consumers of The Ectophiles' Guide work is requesting permissions to use people's comments in The Guide. I was hoping to find someone willing to take over this task but haven't been able to, and it's really hard for me to keep up with (I'm way behind--right now I have messages dating back to last September still to request). There are two different kinds of permission you can give me: BLANKET PERMISSION: If you're willing to give me blanket permission to quote _any_ artist comments you make on the ecto list in The Ectophiles' Guide (and haven't done so already) please let me know. Then I will just swipe your comments freely and they eventually turn up in The Guide. VETO PERMISSION: Alternatively, if you're willing to give me permission to quote any artist comments you make on the ecto list in The Ectophiles' Guide _as long as I run it by you first for veto_ let me know. Here I swipe freely but send you a message asking if you want to veto having these comments appear--you only need to respond if you want to veto use of the comments. Please just respond to this message and let me know if you're willing to let me have either of these kinds of permissions for your ecto comments. And of course, anyone else who wants to volunteer to edit entries for the Guide are more than welcome!
