Does anyone here know where to find the lyrics, in English or the original language? We're thinking it's in German, from info gathered during our search and by Helen's ears. Even someone's vague guess to the lyrics would be great - we need to figure out whether it's a dark song of mourning or something better suited to the ritual she wants to use it in. Hello! There is a lot of news to report. First, I am excited to announce my first performances in the Philadelphia and Washington D.C. areas since the days of October Project. On Saturday, June 9th at 9:00 PM, I will perform at The Point in Bryn Mawr, PA with Dana Pomfret (described by David Crosby as "one of the best new singer/ songwriters in America). The next evening, Sunday, June 10th, we will appear at 8:30 PM at the Iota Club & Cafe in Arlington, VA. We'll be performing a 'mixed bill' in which Dana and I will alternate lead from song to song, backing each other up both vocally and instrumentally. We have assembled a stellar band from NYC featuring gospel singer Deborah Newallo, upright bass, guitar and percussion. Come see the show that packed houses and brought us standing ovations in Burlington, VT and Rochester, NY. The performance at The Point is an "all ages" event, so children are welcome. Please tell your friends and family. For more details, go to http://www.decembergirl.com/upcomingevents.html. Next, congratulations to the three winners drawn in the "decembergirl" lottery for an item of October Project memorabilia. Scott Ross of Forest Hills, NY and Mark Grissom of New Orleans, LA have won an original issue October Project t-shirt, sold at shows before the band was signed to Epic Records, and David Moyer of New York City has won a photograph signed by all members of the band. The opportunity to win a free copy of "decembergirl" continues for entrants in the newest "Six Degrees" trivia contest at http://www.decembergirl.com/6degreesofmarina.html. I should mention that the limited edition of "decembergirl," signed & numbered with a 3D cover and 3D glasses enclosed, will soon be sold out. Future copies of the CD will not be signed and will not have a 3D cover. Don't miss out on this limited offer at http://www.decembergirl.com/getmerchandise.html. I'm very happy to report that my version of "Return to Me" went to #1 on WBER in Rochester, NY, and remains in the top 20 after nearly six months of airplay. Thank you for your support! I came across a posting somewhere in which a German speaker said Sanvean was a lovely song and message to sing to a woman, but they must have meant that in a more abstract way than I thought. There was a fascinating interview in NZ magazine Pavement [I think] in which she spoke about the meaning to her, devout Christian, of singing in Aramaic, and also of speaking in tongues (but not recording this - too personal). To a listener, and I guess to Gerrard, pieces in a 'real' language and no language can be just as powerful ... I can rarely tell them apart. They sound rather like, hmm, Jeff Buckley fronting Live. Good stuff. I'm told that they have music at http://www.thelovesupreme.com/ but it's hideously Flash-infested so I can't tell (another band that's decided it doesn't need listeners, I guess). I've been listening to her two albums more in the past few days than I had in a while. I've never seen her live. Might be able to make a trip to Philly on the 31, but SF would certainly be more convenient, provided she's there while I'm there. Please keep us updated!!
