Subject: star spotting Walking up a side street north of Oxford Street in London, finding it didn't go where I wanted it to, I saw Patti Smith, having a very heated and personal discussion with another American, a young, bearded guy who'd stepped right out of 1971. It was quite stunning to realise that she was all of two feet away from me, and I had to stop myself from staring at her. Unfortunately, I had to turn around and go back the same way I came, and passed her by again. And gawped. np: Close Watch: An Introduction to John Cage. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 05 Dec 2000 10:18:50 +0100 From: "Marcel Rijs" Subject: Re: Triakel news Hi, Anna maria "stjSrnell" wrote: > Triakel have released a christmas album called > Vintervisor..Here's a track list(in case you know > swedish!).. I've just started learning Swedish after being fascinated by it for some years now. I've heard Triakel before, but usually it's a bit too folky for my taste. However, I love (alternative) Christmas music and this sounds like a CD I would want. Would it be possible to hear clips of this album somewhere? And does anyone know an online store where I would be able to find this CD? Kind regards, Marcel Rijs afd. Hi all, Another question about the "Vintervisor" CD by Triakel: Am I correct in thinking that "Innan Gryningen" is indeed the brilliant track sung by Emma Hardelin with musical accompaniment by Benny Andersson? I bought this CDsingle when I was in Stockholm last May and have loved this track to pieces ever since! Kind regards, Marcel Rijs afd. There's a realaudio track available at: http://www.freetrax.com/artists/a/annelidrecker/ definitely worth a listen. They've got a "buy cd" link on the page but unfortunately it doesn't lead anywhere. anyone know where to order this?! jeff ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 5 Dec 2000 13:30:45 +0100 From: "Dirk Kastens" Subject: AW: anneli drecker, _tundra_ - thoughts? But here are a few links that you can go to for shopping. http://www.megasoft.com/media/ http://www.tape.com Another ectophile made this recommendation: My mainstay has been 60 meter/120 minute computer DDS tapes, Sony and Fuji being my usual brands. I have used American Digital before without problem, as I have Terrapin Tapes (www.ttapes.com) and Cassette House (www.tape.com). I bought a couple of boxes of the Sony computer grade tapes, and have been happy with them. I also bought a few Quantegy DAT tapes at a local store that was having a half off sale, and they seem fine too.
