Hola Ectophiles, There's a Rhodes II on ebay going for $48.00!!! Yikes! *PLEASE* don't pay outrageous prices on e-bay. If you feel you just have to have something that's on ebay, please please e-mail me or Happy first (Happy's at cptBryant@aol.com). We can help you get the music without paying those terrible prices. I could not find them anywhere. No one could special order them for me....I even made a few unfruitful trips to little Tokyo to scrounge around. I did not want to use tower records Japanese web site because it was very intimidating. Finally I broke down and tried it. The interesting thing about the site is you type in the band name and the CD title and give them your credit card number and just wait. Today I got an e-mail saying they found it and my reply to the e-mail would confirm I was willing to pay what they asked for. ( which at current exchange rates was $28 for one single but I'm desperate and have become obsessed) If anyone needs a strange Japanese title I thus far recommend giving this a try. PS the site loads much better if you accept Japanese language support. If anyone else can find it cheaper let me know!!!!hehe Rocky Chack - Change (single) Brian p.s. hey someone do a chris and cosey entry ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 3 Oct 2000 06:09:49 -0700 (PDT) From: anna maria "stjärnell" Subject: Odd request Hi.. She's Albany's premier diva (especially since Happy moved away!) Rosanne has an unbelieveable voice (full, rich, sultry) and she's also one of the best folk songwriters around. She sings her bittersweet songs of the complex nature and conflicts of love and life with a dynamic and dramatic flair. A disclaimer: Rosanne's a good friend of mine. But I will mention that she's won Best of the Year (CD or live performance) more than once from all four area newspapers. While on the subject, a friend of mine who works in Toronto radio swears it's Patty Griffin singing on a hair loss jingle airing on the local sports radio station, Fan 590. I highly doubt it, but the thought of it is pretty amusing. Unfortunately he's not too computer-savvy so I can't get an MP3 of this thing from him to hear for myself. Any Torontonians know what he's talking about? Can't help ya there Dan, but while we are at it, does/did anyone here recognize the unseen female singer that was in the recent Home Depot/Olympics commercials? ( "If you're happy and you know it clap your hands" ). She sounds sooooooo familiar it's been driving me totally beezonkers. (some folks thought it was Jewel, and the first like 2 seconds sounds a tad like her, but it's definetely not her...none of the rest sounds like her at all). Hoping someone here knows who she is and can end my misery, Mike :-) P.S. The Home Depot web site has ads with the same theme, but no sound bytes nor clues as to the lady's ID ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 03 Oct 2000 22:12:59 -0400 From: meredith Subject: vickie's shoutcast Hi! Just thought I'd post an appreciation of Vickie's "Suspended In Gaffa" Shoutcast stream. I finally joined the 21st century and got a sound card in my PC at work, so for the past several days I've been tuning it in during the day. It's a lot less work than lugging my entire CD collection back and forth to the office. :) Today I was thrilled to note that instead of shuffling through every MP3 on Vickie's hard drive as it usually does, the stream was shuffling through the entire Happy Rhodes catalog. I haven't listened to that much Happy stuff in one sitting in *years*. It was the only thing that made work bearable today. It was a good warmup for this week's Project Lo shows, too. Speaking of which, hope to see many of you in Waterbury tomorrow, and NYC on Thursday! +==========================================================================+ | Meredith Tarr meth@smoe.org | | New Haven, CT USA http://www.smoe.org/~meth | +==========================================================================+ | "things are more beautiful when they're obscure" -- veda hille | | *** TRAJECTORY, the Veda Hille mailing list: *** | | *** http://www.smoe.org/meth/trajectory.html *** | +==========================================================================+ ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 03 Oct 2000 22:26:28 -0400 From: DanStark Subject: Free Pro Tools audio software This is great, high-end software for multitrack recording and editing! Pro Tools FREE for Mac OS and Windows 98 is a fully functional version of Pro Tools 5.0.1 LE with 8-channel audio support and 48 MIDI track capability, requiring no additional hardware. The software can be configured to use up to two channels of I/O on third-party hardware, including many common PC soundcards and standard chip sets. If you heard the phrase "I need love" in the lyrics, it's Sam Phillips. I happened to catch this on TV last night and was quite surprised to hear Sam's music turning up in a Ralph Lauren ad! Needless to say, the line "I need God/not the political church" is *not* used in the ad... - --Sue Trowbridge * albany, california trow@slip.net * http://www.interbridge.com ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V6 #295 **************************
