All I can say is, WOW! I was fans of Tara and Kendall before seeing the show but now, I am fans of all four of the women BIG TIME! All of them are such strong performers, it's incredible!!! Tara is beautiful-I think I'm in love hehe. They all signed stuff for me and were so nice, they posed for pictures, and Amy gave me her setlist! Their opening act was a local woman named Kathleen Lague who was just as good with just her and her guitar...I bought her cd tonight and she signed it as well. She is very powerful live! I was blown away by everything I saw tonight...Tara's set was way too short though. Okay enough babbling, I'm still psyched about it! -eric "It seems so far to go It took so long to get here Now I'm saying things I swore I'd never say and I'm afraid again" ~Tara Maclean ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 30 Jul 2000 23:57:47 -0600 From: neal copperman Subject: Re: um just some ramblings. and a question about wally pleasant At 7:01 PM -0400 7/28/00, iflin@sirius.com wrote: >okay i ignored the NAPSTER thread...and still will. BLIND Hello friends, fans, in the Ecto musical community, it's been a while since we let you know what is up but with all the junk email out there these days, i still think I will keep it short and to the point. For any Ecto fans in the Portland/Seattle/Eugene area; LAND OF THE BLIND will play a concert at OHM in Portland Oregon on Fri August 4th at 10:00pm. We had hoped since the new album is called ORDINARY MAGIC (OM) that we could release it at this gig (OM at OHM, heh, heh) but due to time pressures the answer is that we will play the album live and have some advance copies for folks there but will release the official version soon. We hope to see all the folks we have not seen in a while out at this great gig. THE FIRST LUCKY 7 FOLKS THAT COME TO THIS GIG AND HAVE THIS EMAIL WILL GET A FREE ADVANCE COPY OF OM. So print this out and come prepared to have some fun. The summer concerts have been great, we had a lovely time up at Brientenbush in June for their Summer Concert Series. We want to thank Kimburly for having us and especially all our fans that came all the way down from Seattle and up into the mountains to stay at Brientenbush and hear us! WOW, we were impressed. Locksme', Beth and the others; YOU ROCK! Hemp Fest 2000(July) was also a blast, THE BLIND woke everyone's brain up on Saturday morning opening the Fest with a huge group OM chant and various other weirdnesses. (Cy had cedar limbs tied to her head and got on Eugene green TV) Thanks to all our fans and dancers there! Our new CD ORDINARY MAGIC is now finished. Cyoakha said no dat tapes ever had so many trips back and forth from San Francisco to Portland. The airport security in both places started to recognize her because of hand-checking the tapes so many times. It is a fabulous collection of 9 songs, 8 originals and 1 cover (our trademark). Our first cover was a Jane Siberry, the 2nd was a Black Sabbath cover and the third is......a surprise. No one can say we are not eclectic. Next up is BURNING MAN, all Ecto-friends and fans are welcome to drop by the Oregon Country Fair Embassy (big silver tent) on the Main Esplanade near the middle of the city this year for fun and music at this great site.(August 27th-Sept 2nd in Nevada desert, check it out online if interested)A treat of art, chaos, fun, & non-commercial freakiness that is a once in a lifetime treat for the more unusual among us. Thank you to SF Ecto fans for your support of my other project, AZIGZA. ALthough I hardly ever have time to write, I do read all the posts and appreciate them.(especially Bill) peace, Cy for LAND OF THE BLIND ps yes you can order OM now, it is being pressed!
