They showed short clips of afro celt sound system, yunchen lhamo, loreena mckennitt, and others. It's a bit short notice but (from the cnn.com site): Watch WorldBeat on CNN/U.S., Sundays @ 12 a.m. ET and 3:30 p.m. ET WorldBeat is repeated on CNNi tuesday mornings btw. Leon n.p. So that one will be out in not too long I guess. She told abit about the songs, and quoted one of the lyrics which seemed back in good old Bel Canto era. I haven't been very fond of what they've done lately, so I'm happy about that. She is clearly fed up with the music industry wanting to make a new Bjork out of her, and thinks that they should respect her wish to be as much together with her daughter as possible. I'm looking forward to this release ... *hugs* - -- Yngve n.p. I'd like to think I haven't scared her off. ;) Actually, business considerations are keeping her north of the border for now, but we're still hoping for some New York area dates in November. >Has anyone else tried to order her new CD from the address on her web page >yet? Since she has been on tour with the Scrappy Bitches the past couple weeks she hasn't been home, so I'm sure that's what the delay is. She's got a couple weeks off from touring, so hopefully that will mean some shipments will go out right off. Thanks for the personalized heads up. But I must say that you overlooked the info that would be even more exciting to me.... >>Fri Oct 29 Balitmore, MD: H. Louis Gallery I've toyed with the idea of trying to hook up house concert people with the folks at H.Lewis. It's a good space, and it's run by art students, so it seemed like a good match. I'm thrilled they are doing a show there (though my guess is that they aren't technically approved for live music). And, best of all, it is exactly 1 block from my apartment! Doesn't get much better than that, except for maybe the fact that I can stop and get a hot chocolate on the way. neal np: Big Night Music - Shriekback nr: Spoonfed, Issue No. 12 ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V5 #339 **************************
