There is also a one-off show in Seattle at the Tractor Tavern on the 5th of September. Hey, that overlaps Bumbershoot, but I don't have any MUST sees that night. None the less, she pulled it off quite well. I really miss those Throwing Muses days! None the less, she pulled it off quite well. Damn! Damn, damn, damn!!! One thing that has always been really annoying about trying to see Kristin live is the way her tour dates never seem to get announced 'til the last minute (and signing up for email from throwingmusic.com gets you *zero* info). I can't believe I didn't find out about her three (yes, *three*!) nights at the Knitting Factory until I just wandered over to her web site and checked after seeing this post and one to the Sleater-Kinney list about her show in Boston. And now she's apparently done with the northeastern US for this tour. I can't belive I missed her! Anyway, to hopefully save someone else from the same horrible fate, here's the current list of Kristin's tour dates as snatched from her web site: Confirmed Tour Dates include: August 1999: 25 Cambridge, MA - Middle East 26 NYC, NY - Knitting Factory 27 NYC, NY - Knitting Factory 28 NYC, NY - Knitting Factory 30 Toronto, ON - Horseshoe Tavern 31 Ann Arbor, MI - Blind Pig September 1999: 2 Chicago, IL - Double Door 3 Minneapolis, MN - First Ave. 4 Madison, WI - U of W (open to public) 9 Vancouver, BC - Starfish Room 10 Seattle, WA - Crocodile Cafe 11 Eugene, OR - WOW Hall 12 Portland, OR - Aladdin Theater 15 Santa Cruz, CA - Palookaville 16 SF, CA - Slims 17 SF, CA - Slims 18 LA, CA - El Rey Theater 19 Santa Ana, CA - Galaxy Theater 20 LA, CA - KCRW "Morning Becomes Eclectic" More Dates TBC...and stay tuned for that Song List! an angry and disappointed Mike np: Lamb -- Fear of Fours ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 29 Aug 1999 20:47:33 +0200 From: "=?iso-8859-1?Q?REN=C9_LAURITSEN?=" Subject: Personal sampler CD exchange Hi everyone! Still being a fledgling ectophile, I do not know if this is an idea that = you have already carried out (or, for that matter, rejected), but here = is my suggestion: My old roommate from my student days recently received = a cd of various tracks selected by another guy on a 'sadcore' mailing = list, and naturally he sent a CD of his own in return. I think it would = be a great idea for us to do the same; it would be especially = interesting to engage in some inter-continent cultural exchange, since a = lot of ectopic music is still known only to a limited, often local, = public. I do not know if misgivings about copyright issues would prevent = all this from happening, but my personal feeling is that artists' sales = would only improve from exposure via Ecto. Any comments on this?
