Here is the tracklist. Amy Jo Johnson, one of the shows stars who you might remember as the Pink Power Ranger ;) has a track on the CD that she also performed on the show. She does have a cool voice, and she plays guitar and frequently performs live in LA (she has a band). You can hear a clip from her song and the others here: http://hollywoodrecords.go.com/soundtracks/felicity/tracks.html Here's the tracklist: SHE WILL HAVE HER WAY performed by Neil Finn HEART AND SHOULDER performed by Heather Nova GOOD ENOUGH performed by Sarah McLachlan I'VE GOT A FEELING performed by Ivy DAY BEFORE YESTERDAY performed by Scout HERMES BIRD performed by Remy Zero ALL I NEED performed by Air French Band BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATER performed by Aretha Franklin EVERYDAY DOWN performed by Joan Jones ANGELS performed by Joe Henry PUDDLE OF GRACE performed by Amy Jo Johnson SLINGSHOT performed by Morley HERE COMES THE FLOOD performed by Peter Gabriel THIS WOMAN'S WORK performed by Kate Bush FELICITY THEME And more: "SARAH McLACHLAN: "GOOD ENOUGH" (Episode: "The Last Stand") ABRAMS: "This touching song played in its entirety was, in fact, a character in the scene. Sarah's voice is so powerful, it's like an instrument. It fills a hugely important scene between Felicity and Julie, where we learn that Julie came to New York to find her birth parents. It's a moment of real bonding between two friends who share their crises and become intimately close." " Hollywood Records Releases Star-Studded "Felicity" Soundtrack Featured Artists Include Sarah McLachlan, Peter Gabriel, Remy Zero, Heather Nova, Joan Jones, Air, and Felicity's Own Amy Jo Johnson From Sarah McLachlan to Peter Gabriel, Remy Zero to Heather Nova, and Kate Bush to Air, Hollywood Records' star-studded "Felicity" soundtrack perfectly captures the moods and emotions from the show's most touching and popular episodes. "Felicity" spotlights 15 soul-stirring tracks that have featured prominently in the blockbuster television show's first season. Heather Nova kicks off this inspiring soundtrack at radio with the poignant "Heart and Shoulders," a song that will be accompanied by a special video featuring key scenes from the show. The second "Felicity" single, to be released this June, will be Joan Jones' "Everyday Down," a song that first appeared on her dazzling self-titled Hollywood Records debut. Also featured on the soundtrack are multiplatinum recording artists such as Sarah McLachlan ("Good Enough"), Peter Gabriel ("Here Comes the Flood"), Aretha Franklin (doing a brilliant rendition of the Simon & Garfunkel classic, "Bridge Over Troubled Water"), and Kate Bush ("This Woman's Work"). In addition, Felicity also features such critically acclaimed artists as Joe Henry ("Angels"), Remy Zero ("Hermes Bird"), Air ("All I Need"), Morley ("Slingshots"), Scout ("Day Before Yesterday"), Ivy ("I've Got a Feeling"), and Neil Finn ("She Will Have Her Way"). "Although we use an incredibly diverse array of music in the show, we tried to choose a consistent feeling for this album," says J.J. Abrams, cocreator and executive producer of "Felicity." "Music is so transporting of memories and feelings, and we tried to find songs that are alternately evocative, emotional, and sometimes even heartbreaking. The important thing is to always have music that touches us. When I listen to these songs in a single setting, I feel happy and proud that they're such a big part of 'Felicity.'" Of special note is the inclusion of "Puddle of Grace," a song written and recorded by "Felicity" costar Amy Jo Johnson as a tribute to her late mother. "The words really fit with the process of saying good-bye and finding yourself," says Johnson. "I've kept a journal since I was 15 and often turn to it for inspiration when writing songs. My closest friends know how revealing my songs really are." (this song is pretty cool--i'd be interested in an album of hers, if she gets around to making one:) TV Soundtracks--that's where the money is, baybee :) Enjoy. They used it quite well in the show, too. Heck - they use all their music quite well in the show. "Good Enough" and "Here Comes The Flood" were particularly powerful in their scenes. Not to mention, they have great taste over there... >Amy Jo Johnson, one of the shows stars who you might >remember as the Pink Power Ranger ;) has a track on the CD that she also >performed on the show. I was wondering if that was really her performing - it certainly looked like it, but sometimes you can't be sure. I'm doing a page for Vonda for the guide. Is there someone who could send me album info on the first two albums? (Vonda Shepard and The Radical Light)? And if anyone wants to jump in with comments, particularly on the new album (by 7:30) that would be great. Very confident, very personable. Her new one is more accessible than previous oeuvres, I'm not sure it's even better, but certainly different. Reminiscent of Greg Dorman at times, not a bad thing. I bought it, I like it. np: Hank Dogs Regards, Peter Clark ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 17 May 1999 13:26:43 +1000 From: Andrew Fries Subject: Lamb - continued Having rushed out to get the first Lamb record, I now have to say that while they are both recognisably the same band, for my money "Fear of Fours" is much stronger. It's made of similar ingredients as their first, but they add up to something even better and more exciting. It grabbed me and holds me still while my initial reaction to the first one is so far rather more subdued... I like it, sure - but it doesn't *grab* me. One exception is "Gorecki" - for me that's one track that immediately stands out on the first record. Now that I heard the original I think the dance remix version that I first came to know and like from "Fear of Fours" doesn't do it justice. But in any case I don't think most of you will get to hear this remix - if I'm right, it's a bonus track on Australian version only. All in all, I'll certainly be interested in hearing the reactions of those who knew their earlier record... I hope you'll be pleasantly suprised. Tim also seems to prefer Fear of Fours: > overall its more well-rounded and consistently pleasing That's my opinion as well. I hope you'll be > pleasantly suprised. Tim also seems to prefer Fear of Fours: I would definitely say that I prefer "Fear Of Fours", but the extent to which this is true may or may not be because of its newness. Certainly when I bought "Lamb" I was struck by Gorecki, and then it took a week or two to get into (and finally adore) songs like "God Bless", "Zero" and "Gold". On the otherhand nothing really struck me from "Fear Of Fours" on first listen, but by the third I was well and truly hooked on everything. I am enjoying a similar experience with Catatonia's new album "Equally Cursed And Blessed", which I was originally underwhelmed by, but now thoroughly impresses me. One of the things I like about this album is how well Catatonia *fail* to achieve their goals. "Dead From The Waist Down" strives to be "We Are The World" but doesn't quite get there, "Storm The Palace" falls just short of achieving true punk nihilism, "Karaoke Queen" is an unconvincing Pulp homage, "Valerian" can't quite capture The Corrs' cheesy Irish-pop and "Shoot The Messenger" is a gloriously misguided Brecht/Weil pastiche. Which means that every song on this record is basically a wonderful Catatonia song with a new and brilliantly wacky emphasis. I'm doing Clannad's entry for the guide. With 21 albums (and counting) this is pretty exhausting. I was wondering if someone could send me album info on the albums I don't have. Info being release year, label, catalogue #, musicians and instruments, producer. And any comments you have. Feel free to jump in with any comments you have on any of their albums, general stuff, or live performance. These are the albums I need info for: Clannad Clannad 2 Ring of Gold The Collection The Angel and the Soldier Boy Atlantic Realm Themes Rogha: The Best of Clannad For _Legend_ and _Sirius_ I am missing: producer. Also, does anyone have a listing of what instruments the band members play on _Sirius_? And what The Three Tribesmen do on that album? Thanks a bunch. - -JoAnn ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V5 #174 **************************
