And liked them! Happy content: I sing so many snippets of Happy songs to myself at various points in the movie. sigh, I wish the Wachowskis had known about her. Who couldn't see the song "Many Worlds" or "The Chariot" playing on Neo's headphones when he's asleep at the computer? You know,..I was thinking the same thing. Her music would have been perfect for this flick. Another artist who would have been amazing to hear would have been Allan Holdsworth. He is one of the most unique, outside, (yet deceptively melodic,....if you allow yourself to fall into his music) writers/guitarist. (Charlie Parker meets Nikola Tesla.) Music from the distant future to say the least. Paul ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 23 Apr 1999 10:07:58 -0400 From: "Holly J Tominack" Subject: Re: Yngve's Birthday! Happy Birthday to Yngve! Did I tell y'all about when Yngve came to Baltimore to visit? Well, I'm going to talk about it again. I'll bet y'all didn't know that Yngve is magic. Yngve can *smell* fabulous used compact discs. How else to explain it? Yngve and I were walking down Broadway in Fells Point and suddenly, as if pulled by an invisible string, Yngve disappears into this weirdo little shop that I never even thought to visit. By the time I notice my companion is vanished and I follow his path into the shop, I find Yngve with a stack of about 15 used compact discs tucked in one arm while the other arm reaches out to the next box of "for-sale-cheap-used-wonderful compact discs." "Dude, man," I say to him, "This is like, you know, *my* neighborhood, and *I'm* supposed to be the one who shows *you* where all the cool stuff is." Actually, I probably didn't say that, but I'm sure I thought it. How did he know that he would find cool stuff in there? He *smelled* it. Or something. "Do you have this?" Yngve asks me, showing me a disc by Katell Keineg. "Er...uh...no...she's been mentioned on ecto a coupla times and..." Before I finish my embarrassed mumbly sentence, Yngve has wordlessly thrust "Jet" into my hands, and before I have a chance to think about what has just happened, Yngve is showing me another disc. "You have this?" Yngve asks. It's a disc by Emm Gryner. Before I can express my ignorance, Yngve has stuck "Public Advance Music" in my hand. This went on for quite a while. Yngve: This? Holly: Nope. Yngve: (the sound of Yngve sticking another compact disc in my hand) Yngve: This? Holly: Nope. Yngve: This? Holly: Nope. Yngve: This? etc... Inside of 15 minutes, I had, not half a bunch, but a *whole* bunch of ecto music I had never heard, and Yngve had a couple of whole bunches of discs. And the best thing is, the stuff wasn't terribly expensive. After buying enough compact discs to fill a refrigerator box, we still had money left over for beer. Yngve made Baltimore, my home, seem like it was a different planet. Through his eyes, the place I had been living for years seemed new. Happy birthday, my brother. Because you exist, my world is more wonderful. And I still haven't finished listening to all the compact discs we obtained during your stay with me. :) Love to all, Holly ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 23 Apr 1999 15:26:34 GMT0BST From: Ms Elin Gyda Dreaming Girl Sjoelie Subject: Re: Yngve's Birthday! > Happy Birthday to Yngve!
