Don't know if this will hit you Ecto-folks properly but....did anyone watch Melrose Place last nite and recognize the slow dreamy song that Eve was singing in the club? It was very ethereal and I was drawn to it. I was hoping the Rosebud disc would be available for a while as I couldn't find any trace of them ever. Does anyone know which ones were (briefly) available, so I can really feel sorry for myself? I am lucky, though, to have 3 on cd and one on vinyl. That's a pretty good collection as far as finding her work goes. Btw, here are a few more songs at the Global Music site: http://www.globalmusic.com/daps/samsonmusic/index.html >> MORE INFO: >> This music is in the MP4 format. You do not need any special players. For clarity's sake... Global Music invented a self-contained, closed, proprietary, medium quality MP3 (which itself is short for "MPEG1-layer 3") player and then trademarked the name "MP4," giving the impression that their thing is the better quality, next generation of MP3, when in fact their player has *nothing* to do with the *actual* next generation standard, MPEG-4. It's true that MPEG-4 dropped the ball on getting the name first, and GMO didn't do anything illegal in grabbing the name MP4, and it might not even be considered unethical, but some people who closely follow and respect MP3s consider it a slimy thing to do. >> Click here mp4.globalmusic.com/audio/happy_manyworlds_20.exe to >> download a free self-playing song sample of this marvelous group. Ooops! These things are pretty cute, though. And Ectophiles are mentioned on them. I had been worried that they'd be spammed around as an attachment, but I like how they're apparently only sending them to people who requested them, and how they just provide a link to download it rather than attach the file to the e-mail. Anyway--last year Charles' wife was in a car accident and broke her back. She's recovering well--can walk and is getting better day by day. The problem is that they had no insurance. So, they've had many auctions of friend's materials, benefits and such. Now he and Neil Gaiman have put together a grouping of Charles' and other artisits' paintings, as well as two chapbooks (one by Gaiman and the other by Susanna Clarke.) and are selling it to help pay Karen's hospital expenses. If you're interested please go to 153west.com/ and check out the information there on the signed books and collectables page. That's it for now. Sorry about the low music content.
