The dancing in that video is *exquisite*!! Someone asked about purchasing KaTe and Tori videos. For KaTe there was the "Whole Story" compilation video which encompassed videos "Hounds Of Love" and "The Dreaming" mostly. An earlier compilation, "The Singles File" features the early/wacky/cheesy stuff. These compilations might be tough to find. I don't see them listed on the major online music store sites, but perhaps the little guys still stock 'em. After that, Kate put out "The Sensual World" videos compilation, and the for the "The Red Shoes" a conceptual film piece called "The Line, The Cross, The Curve," starring Miranda Richardson and KaTe herself. In my mind, this is for KaTe-diehards only, as it's a bit "out there." KaTe seems to live on her own planet when it comes to film/video production (or much less anything else!).....I haven't seen it in a long time, but wasn't overly impressed with it. For Tori there's the "Little Earthquakes" videos, which include some live performances, too. And the most recent "92-98" compilation that has both LE, UtP, BfP and FtCH vids. One of my other fave Tori vids is "China"--I love the Cornwall, England (I think) scenery, and how it matches Tori's spandex outfit! At first I thought Neile was writing a response to my post about Joydrop recently... then I realized that I'd only written half a post and never actually sent it to the list. Glad she reminded me of it. Anyways there are definitely some very "Garbage" moments on the CD. Like in the radio single "Beautiful" there's a part where Tara Slone (sp?)'s vocals are distorted, the instrumentation gets really heavy and you could swear you were listening to Shirley Manson and Garbage. About half of the songs on the CD, particularly the more rocking songs, sound Garbage-y to me, including two of my favourite songs on the CD, "If I Forget" and "No one". Otherwise I'm finding it difficult to pin it down. I think they do very well on the rocking numbers, but a couple of the quieter ones are very good too. Just out of curiosity... up here in Toronto their song "Beautiful" was in heavy rotation on "alternative" radio in late summer last year... was it played south of the border too? Probably not I suppose, their website says the US release of _Metasexual_ was only last month. One other bit of trivia about Joydrop: Fans of the tv show "La Femme Nikita" may recognize Tara from her recurring role on the show as "Gail". Anyway I love Joydrop and recommend them for anyone who likes the rockier side of ecto and especially for fans of Garbage.
