Sunday, Dec. 13, she will be performing at the Hotel Utah as part of some kind of holiday music thing (also featuring members of EB's old band, the Potato Eaters); and on Wednesday, Jan. 27, she will be opening for the fantabulous Amy X Neuburg and Men at Venue 9. In fact, Amy X will be playing every Wednesday night in Dec. and Jan. (except for the last 2 weeks of Dec.) and each show will feature a different opening act. Check out Amy's web site at http://www.isproductions.com/amy/proj.shtml for the full scoop. Oh yeah, all of these shows are in San Francisco. Sandra does perform it in the film, but she is by herself. I think she was lip synching (it's been a long time since I've seen it). So, you probably hear Tori but you definitely don't see her. Someone talked to someone and someone got rid of that awful opening "splash" page with the honkin' huge logo. Everyone who listed http://www.samsonmusic.com/home.htm to bypass the splash page should change their links back to http://www.samsonmusic.com/ because "home.htm" doesn't exist anymore, so people accessing that link will get a 404 Error. Thanks to those responsible for making it easier to access the Samson site. I quieted down about the whole thing (except for bending Richard Musil's ear about it in New York) but that splash page still gave me problems. If it gave me problems it certainly gave other people problems, so I still couldn't let it go even though I quit talking about it in Ecto. It's gone now, and I am so pleased! Thank you! Never ever pay for a year access on a ISP. I did despite reading that it's a bad idea. I was just tired of my email address always changing so I wanted to settle down. Little did I know it was not going to work out that way. If some of you are confused who I am I was: Ariana@webreach.com. For some time now I have had problems on and off with the email. When I would call the company that acted like they really could care less. That was reason number one why I should have just gone monthly. But a few weeks ago I had no email for a few days. I called them on the weekend and they did not pick up their phone. I tried to email myself from a yahoo account I created and it bounced back. I also tried to read their www.webreach.com address but it no longer existed. I feared chapter 11. I called again on a Monday and said what's going on with the email when someone picked up. He went into this story including that they had a fire so basically they are out of business. So I said thank you and hung up. I would have asked so what a refund if your going out of business but I didn't have the heart. So far I still have web/mirc access. I just don't know up until what point they will decide to shut down business completely. I even spoke to my credit card company and they told me to write a dispute letter. I did but I doubt it will help but it doesn't hurt. Next time it will be only monthly for me. Any way I am surprised no one has ever mentioned Sister Soleil's album Soularium. I picked up a advanced copy at Sounds a few months ago but only started to listen to it recently. It's very good. The lead singer's name is Stella. I read that she use to do back up vocals for bands like Die Warzau, Ministry, and Chemlab. People who are in the dancy/keyboardy side of ecto will like this album. Some people on a web page compare the band to bands like Curve. I also read that they have toured with My Scarlet Life. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 21 Nov 1998 23:43:27 -0500 (EST) From: Jeff Burka Subject: Re: Susan McKeown! The name of the album is _Mighty Rain_. It's understandable to be confused, as the disc itself has "Depth of Field" silkscreened across the entire surface. She had pretty notorious stage fright in the early days. I saw her 6 or so years ago (on Guyville), and she was uncomfortable and performed a pretty mediocre set. But I saw her on Lillith and she sang with total confidence in a much bigger (like 100 times) venue. She put on a great show. Her voice was dramatically stronger (which is evident on the album too) and she actually seemed to be having fun. This was the report I'd heard from other Lillith's too. Which doesn't mean those rumours aren't true. It just appeared that she had it licked. neal np: Souk Al Amir - Georges Lammam, Tony Lammam, Jim Helman ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V4 #410 **************************
