Hmmmm. I listen a million times and many years to the music of my favorites and I'll be darned if I can't recall the song names to 85% of them. Now that I think of it, its the music of the stuff I don't listen to much that I know the names. Maybe its because I get so involved in the music itself that knowing the name becomes meaningless. Although I'm beyond broke right now, I'm interested in the following artists. If anyone would be so kind as to tell me a bit about their music (I'm a big lyrics person ;) and works up to date, that woudl be cool...or if you wanna make me a mixtape of their work, that would be even better, but I don't expect it, so don't bother with it unless you're feeling overly generous ;) Seriously, not a big deal. - --PJ Harvey. Have heard good things. Know she's got a new album out. Very interested. - --Liz Phair. Same thing. Haven't heard _exile_ yet and only got to listen to about 10 sec. of the first track in the local Borders before I was pulled away - --Susan Werner. - --Joy Askew - --Joy Eden Harrison - --Lisa Sanders That's about it. And I *highly* recommend to you all: Beth Waters (in the SF Bay area--she's got a 4 track EP/CD out and she's great. You can order one from her directly by emailing her at: underwaters1@hotmail.com, they're only $8. Some people would compare her to Tori--if you're into that whole comparison thing ;)., Kinnie Starr (ahhh! Love this CD!), and if you're in the Indianapolis area, 17-year-old Emily Wells is a GREAT folksinger whose new CD will be out in just a few weeks. She also performs Saturday at Ruby's if anyone can make it, I'm gonna try. She's very talented.
