I know that everyone is entitled to their own opinion but i can still be shocked by it. Maybe it's just that a lot of Happys work is so dark. That's the reason that I am drawn to Happys work but I can understand how it might turn some off. But it is emotional, that i'm sure of. fred - --part0_905317031_boundary-- ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 8 Sep 1998 22:23:50 -0800 From: Michael Pearce Subject: re: a different view on Happy Joyce Wermont writes, >So it was with anticipation that I bought a tape by Happy Rhodes >(Rhodesongs I), since the newsgroup was at least nominally about her. >I figured that if people were into all these other singers I liked so >much, I would probably like Happy a lot, too. That first album is not on my favorite list, either. The one I always use to play for new people is "Rhodesongs," the compilation release from 1995. It has my favorites from the previous four albums, and a couple of excellent tracks from I and II. From the list of (familiar) artists that you do like, I think that Rhodesongs would change your mind. That's is the way she spelled it under special circumstances. It is also the two letters of her logo/symbol, as seen on earlier records. Someone else can give you a better history of the KT design. (Though some of us prefer a grid cut to a radial.) Absolutely Charley ! Nary a word of disagreement on this list ! But, Grid cut !!! Grid cut !!!!! Pineapple pizza is NEVER grid cut !!! I cannot BELIEVE that you could even suggest this act of desecration on a poor pineapple pizza !!! Why, I'll bet that you probably even pull the fruit off of the pizza and eat them first !!! Ummm, wait a minute, I do that too. Well, nevermind :) Hungry regards, Anna P.s., Grid cut indeed !!! ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 9 Sep 1998 00:38:31 -0500 (CDT) From: kerrywhite@webtv.net (kerry white) Subject: re: KaTe KaTe has a facination with the Knights Templar. They were a bit different than the usual crew of crusaders. They are also known as the Knights of Malta- they "made" the Maltese Falcon, the mcguffin of the movie of the same name. Besides any factual info that can be found, Umberto Eco's _Foucault's Pendulum_ mixes them up with several groups who control the world behind the scenes, including the immortal Comte de Satint - Germaine. The preceeding has been both more and less than you wanted to know. 8-) KrW TV or not TV? That is the question. Last Sunday, Syracuse was hit by a micro-burst. The city is fairly large and they >still< don't have electicity. I may have to wait a few days before I go. I called the Troy Music Hall today and they are waiting for the promoter to get back with them before tickets go on sale. As it was two years ago, I plan to fly in to Albany on the 12th, see HR and fly back to work on the 13th. This will be a week and a half after I drive back from being less than 100 miles away. I was locked into my vacation timings before I heard about Troy. Back and forth, back and forth!!! bye, KrW TV or not TV? That is the question.
