Whew!!! I really wish I had > that on CD. Which I now realise I do! It's included in a compilation called "Blonde and Beyond - the very best of Debbie Harry & Blondie" which I haven't played for a very long time. Dug it out last night and will probably give it a spin tonight, it was kept out of the player last night by Happy's "Equipoise" and Sibelius' "Kulervo". I don't think it's changed too much.. although after about 100 arsons one mischief night a few years back they started a watch program that really cut things back in that area... well, it was either that or they're running out of things to burn.. Camden's claims to fame now are the New Jersey State Aquarium and the Sony Blockbuster Entertainment Center where many of the Philadelphia area concerts are now held.. one of the main reasons I don't see big name concerts anymore... It's kind of funny that I paid $4 for One of the funnier masters-freeing stories I've heard is of John Zorn's "Cynical Hysteria Hour". It seems that Sony-Japan had printed only a few copies of this one, considered by many to be among Zorn's best, and then refused to either print more or let the masters go. Some years later, there was a conflict when the Knitting Factory apparently double-booked their space one night for both a Zorn performance and a Sony squid party. Zorn's price for letting the squid have the space was that they give him bakc the album. They did. The other funniest one involves Harlan Ellison mailing a dead gopher to his publisher... but it's kind of involved, and I don't tell it as well as Harlan does... - - ---------1---------1---------1---------1---------1---------1---------- |||/ Joseph Zitt ===== jzitt@humansystems.com ===== Human Systems \||| ||/ Maryland? = <*> SILENCE: The John Cage Mailing List <*> = ecto \|| |/ http://www.realtime.net/~jzitt ====== Comma: Voices of New Music \| ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 5 Jun 1998 19:20:16 EDT From: Riphug@aol.com Subject: Directions for Jessica Weiser's Concert on Sat. June 6th Jessica asked me to send directions to those of you who are attending her Strawberry Festival appearance in Indianapolis on Saturday, June 6th.......And this is also an invitation/reminder to anyone else who is reading. The location is Faith Presbyterian Church at the corner of 82nd Street and Hague. She'll be singing at approximately 1:30 (maybe a little before) and then again around 4:00.....each time for about a half an hour. (REMINDER: These times are Eastern STANDARD Time......since Indiana doesn't change to Eastern DAYLIGHT Time.) From the freeway that circles Indianapolis (I-470?), you take I-69 North. Then take the 82nd Street Exit and turn right (east). You'll go past some stores and when you see Community North Hospital, the church is just past the hospital on the right at the corner of Hague Street. Jessica wasn't all that sure of the directions, but this is the best she could come up with (geography is *not* her strong point ). She asks those of you with cameras to bring them so that you can take photos to add to her professional portfolio. So far the list of definite attendees for this event is JenniandSquid, Andrea Rotter (from ITW), and me. Tracy, I couldn't find Nicki's address, so please forward this to her or call her, ok? Oh, and Jess said that she probably can't go out and party after the second show, but that maybe between performances we could all go over to Applebee's or something for lunch/snacks/appetizers/drinks/desserts/whatever. I hope to see lots of you there.......Jessica needs our support.......AND can that girl *SING*!!!! ;-) Jill :D ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 5 Jun 1998 23:15:10 EDT From: ABershaw@aol.com Subject: CLB -bootleg? The one I have is 1993 Chrysalis/ERG (0946 3 21990 27) release titled 'Blondie - Blonde and Beyond' and it features Heroes as the final track. The liner notes have a dicography and various overview of Blondie by Ira Robbins... not a bad comp as they go. I had kept an eye for 'Heores' for many years and dispaired that I would ever find this wonderuful bit of Frippery on CD as all I had (very past tense) was a crappy cassette copy from the radio. neill np: Duh! ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V4 #177 **************************
