Hi! Jeffy passed along: >Many Worlds Are Born Tonight > >Track listing: Huh? No "This Is How It Should Be"?!? I wonder which one is "Jork"? And I wonder if "Ra Is A Busy God" is changed any from the version on the AG sampler? I *really* don't want to wait until August. +==========================================================================+ | Meredith Tarr meth@smoe.org | | New Haven, CT USA http://www.smoe.org/~meth | +==========================================================================+ | "things are more beautiful when they're obscure" -- veda hille | | *** TRAJECTORY, the Veda Hille mailing list: *** | | *** http://www.smoe.org/meth/trajectory.html *** | +==========================================================================+ ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 21 Mar 1998 01:02:58 From: meredith Subject: mila drumke in evanston Hi! Just got back from a wonderful day in Chicagoland. Thanks to Paul Blair, whose sister works at the Borders in Evanston (is the world small enough yet?!) I got directions, and arrived in plenty of time for Mila Drumke's in-store performance. She had her band with her, this time consisting of Lyris Hung on violin and guitar, Elissa Moser on bass, and Mark Sacco on drums (all spellings completely guessed at on my part :). They were all groggy from a late night playing in Chicago last night, but they did a really good, casual, mellow set that lasted about an hour. I finally got to hear "Under The Ivy" live (yay!), and they also did songs by Los Lobos and Nanci Griffith, as well as a good mix of Drumke originals from her two albums. The audience consisted almost exclusively of Mila's relatives, so naturally there was a good response from the crowd. :) Just before the show started I happened to glance back and see Vickie standing by the wall with her video camera. :) I wasn't exactly surprised to see her there, but I hadn't known for sure beforehand what her plans were. We ended up going for food and _Good Will Hunting_ (probably the only movie I'll see this year, and it was worth it ;) after -- it was great to see you again, Vickie! Mila Drumke and Lyris Hung will be performing at The Living Room in NYC on Saturday, 3/28. I'll be there. (I think I totally weirded them out when I told them afterwards I've been seeing them play in New York, and will be seeing them again there next weekend. :) Oh -- I almost forgot. About halfway through their set I suddenly noticed that the display of CDs off to the side of the "stage" contained copies of _Peter and Wendy_ and Susan McKeown and Lindsey Horner's _Through The Bitter Frost And Snow_. I'd heard that _Bushes and Briars_ was supposed to be in Borders listening stations all this month, but I didn't find it anywhere. Still, it was cool to see the display there! +==========================================================================+ | Meredith Tarr meth@smoe.org | | New Haven, CT USA http://www.smoe.org/~meth | +==========================================================================+ | "things are more beautiful when they're obscure" -- veda hille | | *** TRAJECTORY, the Veda Hille mailing list: *** | | *** http://www.smoe.org/meth/trajectory.html *** | +==========================================================================+ ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V4 #93 *************************
