They also have Mary Margaret O'Hara's _Miss America_ for $4.50 (Virgin 91274). Both are great. O'Hara might be an acquired taste for some. Cd's We Bee South 3420 Whipple Street Spokane, WA 99206-6308 509/922-7378 voice/fax They take credit cards now. I don't think they will sell overseas, though, because they don't include overseas postage & handling info, but you could ask. I have no affiliation with these folks at all. On another subject, Robin Holcomb's second recording of songs is out. It's called _Rockabye_ and I really like it. It's as quirky as her first one, though maybe not as immediately catchy. For those who didn't hear her first one, her music is a very individual mixture of jazz, folk, country influences. I heard her at Bumbershoot (Seattle's big Labor Day weekend arts festival) last night. It was great. [Hah, you missed out by going home early, Peskura! :) ] Come to think of it, Mary Margaret O'Hara and Robin Holcomb are kind of similar in their quirkiness, but O'Hara is a little more driving. I only dimly remember it, but I think there were more like 10 versions, and they were more than simply remixes, they were wildly varying covers done by a variety of groups/performers. Lou Reed? Lou Reed? They Might Be Giants? >...I can't remember... Sheesh. I would have expected _Tom's Album_ to be a bit more widely known. Yes, there are ~10 tracks (I'm far too lazy to go downstairs and grab my dad's copy to confirm...). The album starts out with the original. It has also the DNA version, as well as a DNA-edited version of "Rusted Pipe" (a song from _Days of Open Hand_). That remix is superb. Some of the other tracks are various sorts of weirded out covers. One is some sort of peaceniky protest song. One is german. There's a wonderful parody, I believe called "Genie's Diner", the lyrics of which are based around the TV show "I Dream of Genie"--*very* funny, moderately clever, and a minor hit on WHFS here in DC. The only 'famous' band on the album is "Bingo Handjob", a nom de vinyl for R.E.M. with Billy Bragg, recorded live in England somewhere. This is also quite funny, though I think a bit condescending; R.E.M.'s music, to my mind, has a not a little of the pretentiousness they seem to be making fun of in this cover. But that's okay; I really like R.E.M. and I really like Suzanne Vega. Wonder if she'll cover one of *their* songs.
