I am in the lab, playing happy (of course :) and there is a new person here, who asked "who is this??" So i explained :) She asked if i'd heard of jean redpath, she has only heard of the woman, not heard any of her music, she says she sings acapella, but doesn't know much about her except that she's heard of her and would like to know more and if it'd be possible to find her music somehow.. jessica ======================================================================== Subject: Kirsty Maccol Date: Sat, 07 Mar 92 01:23:43 -0500 From: jeffy@syrinx.umd.edu This seems as good a place to ask as any... I know Kirsty Maccol covered The Smith's "You Just Haven't Earned it Yet Baby" on the _She's Having A Baby_ soundtrack. But I keep thinking that she also covered "Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want" somewhere. A friend and I were discussing this tonight, and he didn't know of the second cover (he's a fan of both Kirsty Maccoll and The Smiths so is interested). Does such a cover exist, and if so, where? The only possibility I can think of right now is the _Pretty In Pink_ soundtrack. Anybody know for certain? Jeff |Jeffrey C. Hey, I'm back!! I have been overworked (even more than ususal!) and out of touch with everything else lately!! Anyway, I'm back now!! To whoever it was that recommended _Dali's Car_ stuff recently, I say "Mmmph"!! It's OK I guess, but I never liked it as much as _Bauhaus_ or Peter Murphy's solo stuff. BTW, there's talk on alt.music.alternative about a neew PM album coming out soon. Chip, tell Vickie I said "Yo!". Will mail her the tapes soon. The address of QE2 is 13 Central Ave. Luckily Central Av. is a pretty big street so it shouldnt be a real problem...except that I don't know how the numbers run. Anyway... >From the south: Take 87 N (NY thruway) to exit 23. Go E on 787 to Madison Av. Go west on Madison (left) to Lark St. Take a right on Lark St. to Central Av. Then it's either right or left on Central depending on the numbers. >From the north: Take 87 S to exit 2. Go East on Albany-Schenectady Road Rt. 5 which changes directly into Central Ave. >From the east: Take I90 W (Mass Turnpike) to exit 6 or exit 5. If you get off at exit 6 you go south on Rt.377 which runs into Northern Blvd which apparantly changes into Lark St. Take Lark St. to Central. Then left or right as needed. Exit 5 exits almost directly to Central Ave (so it might be easier). After you exit you have to go S a short distance - Look for signs for Rt. 5 or Central Ave. >From the west: Take 90 E (NY Thruway) to exit 24. Proceed on 90 to exit 5 (see directions above). These are the best I can do. I accept no responsibility for anyone who gets lost hahah. <<< WHAT ELSE??? >>> if i have forgotten anything, let me know!!!! send comments/???? to: gb10@gte.com OR footah@world.std.com i read gb10 much more often, but remember that serious upheaval bit??? if you don't hear from me, try footah... :) did some one say footah???!? guess it's that time! -greg -- gb10@gte.com -- "i find you in the morning after dreams of distant signs you pour yourself over me like the sun through the blinds you lift me up and get me out keep me walking but never shout hold the secret close i hear you say" -- peter murphy (cuts you up) ======================================================================== Date: Sun, 8 Mar 92 22:12:06 -0500 From: gb10@gte.com (Gregory Bossert) Subject: philly philly phileeeEEEEEEeeee!! it is *also* less than two weeks to (*gasp*) the (a legend before its own time!)
