I haven't figured out yet whether my brain really can send messages back into its past (there's no pattern to _when_ these deja-vu feelings have popped up or when I think I remember seeing the original vision of the situation, or even the situations themselves) or whether it's just bugs in the firmware. Can someone recognize following lyrics: (hope that this wont make _TOO_ long post) Lyrics probably (certainly :) have some bugs as I was writing'em down in one pass... Thanks in advance for any info... Song #1: Some store; I'm not going back there any more I wandered in, don't think I'll do that again, No; I don't think I'll do that again I swear; Look at me crosseyed, And I don't know what to do No; I don't know what to do... Crazy... Some store; I'm not going back there any more I wandered in, don't think I'll do that again, No; I don't think I'll do that again I swear; Look at me crosseyed, And I don't know what to do No; I don't know what to do... Crazy.... Song #2: I could get a peace of me, from a parentry, Nothing ever spoiled on me. You brought this, you deepshit, Nothing ever spoiled on me. Bad cloud storms around my house, Does whatever it pleases; It teases me What the hell; Never was a bare at one, Till you stepped in, Never drive my halters on the line, This hairdo's truly evil, I'm not sure it's mine. You're so tall It's like I claim the waterfall Bad cloud storms around my house, Does whatever it pleases; It teases me What I said was get me a drink, all right? What am I supposed to sit, And look at you all night All girls cry; like I said I don't know why Bad cloud storms around my house, Does whatever it pleases; It teases me Never was a bare at one, Till you stepped in, Never drive my halters on the line, This hairdo's truly evil, I'm not sure it's mine. You're so tall It's like I claim the waterfall Song #3: Who are you, I can't remember your name, Where am I, what was I gonna say, What's the time, what day is it today, I feel fine, I'll probably be okay.. Have a ????, and have spaghetti ???? Mommy is back, she's gonna tuck you into night Mommy is sorry, she gave you such a fright, Mommy is home, she's gonna be alright. Check up that lady, She's talking to herself, Check up that lady, She's gonna go to hell. Reailize she's in a different place, Realize her lack of social grace, She can take the smile off his face, He wants to take her somewhere she'll be safe. Set the table, dancing on the table, Clearer place, because she is unable; mable. He looks at her and wanders where she is. She smiles a little, and tells him she is his. Check up that lady, And take her far away, Check up that lady, The devil made her hair. Song #4: Hot ???? Move things I write on his wall I have no mind at all Hot things Move him I write on his wall I have no heart at all I think she's a pretty little fool, She holds me down, she flows. She has a back like Marie. I think he's a crazy bastard, Drives me home, he goes, You have a back like Marie You have pearls on your eyes, And you use your burning to wrap yourself And you use your fever to hide yourself away, And you use your sweating to keep me down, And you use your heat to have me, And you use your fire to be stronger than me, And you use your flame against me. I won't come back like Marie These pearls on my eyse, These pearls on my eyes, They make me blind I write on your wall I have no eyes at all. -- | Mirko Bulaja - mbuly@cromath.math.hr | "And the evil eye of the hurricane | | PMF-Zagreb, Department of Mathematics | is closing in now, for a KILL!" | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ======================================================================== Date: Fri, 8 Jul 1994 07:39:39 -0400 (EDT) From: S Trowbridge Subject: Re: Basia > jeffy writes: > > And what Dennis fails to mention is that Basia used to be with a > > band and I'm ripping my hair out trying to remember the name of the > > band. Well Joanne and I attended the show last evening and what a great show it was! Syd put on a great 45 min to an hour opening set. She talks so much, either she was nervous (which I believe was the case) or that's just the way she is. She backed herself on electric guitar (rhythm) and had Richie (I forget his last name) on lead. She found Richie at Joey Ramone's B'day party and begged him to tour w/her. Syd's songs have varied topics ranging from one night stands to death of friends (Kurt Cobain in this case). She is very talented! As Kristen said "This may be the year of El Syd". I won't spoil it for those going to the Chicago show but her last song was quite the surprise. Kristen backed herself on acoustic guitar. She was outstanding even after she had to stop in the middle of a song because of a coughing fit, she laughed "I've never done that before" and played an instrumental until she felt she could sing again, but no more beer after that. Her voice was not at its best (she contracted a flu while down in New Zealand) but sounded great nonetheless. Kristen played most of "Hips" and a few new songs a good hour plus set, "Your Ghost" was quite the surprise as well. Her stories, especially about her 2 year old son, (we can relate to them having a 2 and 4 year old), were really very entertaining. Her guitar playing was flawless and her voice, what a strong voice coming from such a petite person, hmm. The show was more than worth the price of admission, I would definitely recommend seeing Kristen and Syd if you have the chance. Anthony: aren't you sorry you missed her now? :) Have a great weekend everyone! And you know, several others responded to the Roches thread. I'm so glad to see so much interest in them! Although it wasn't my thread, I'm a big fan, so I thought I'd jump in here. Number 1-DON'T call them The Roaches. They have nothing to do with cockroaches or cucuraches, or those creepy crawly things by any other name. And to the best of my knowledge, none of their tours has ever been sponsored by RAID. Josh gets a big backing from me on his opinion (listed above) of _Keep on Doin'_. It happens to be one of my favorite albums of all time. Another of their albums produced by Robert Fripp is _The Roches_ on which can be found the charming "Mr. Selleck," and the great "The Troubles" (sure wish they'd record a live version of this, they do a killer job of it in concert). For those of you who like Irish music, check out "On The Road To Fairfax County" (_Keep On Doin'_) and "Factory Girl" (_Nurds_). If you're more interested in the kind of song that says "I love you and I wish you loved me back the way I want you to," you might enjoy "Love To See You" (_Another World_), The Largest Elizabeth In The World" (_Keep On Doin'_), or "The Married Men" (_The Roches_). The Roches are Maggie, Terre and Suzzy Roche - a trio of sisters from New Jersey. Here's a discography for anyone who still has interest in discovering some of the most pleasant sounds ever made on the face of the Earth: _Seductive Reasoning_ (just Maggie and Terre) - 1975 Rereleased by Sony Music Special Products!!! This one's mostly mountain-type country (The Oak Ridge Boys appear on "If You Emptied Out All Your Pockets You Could Not Make The Change," and a little bit folky. _The Roches_ - 1979 Their debut as a trio ("born on the fifth of September..."), and on Warner Brothers records. This one's fairly folky, I'd say. _Nurds_ - 1980 A different style starts creeping in here. Still brilliant, still tongue firmly in cheek, they relate "The Death Of Suzzy Roche" and the story of "Louis," who has money. _Keep On Doin'_ - 1982 Quite simply one of the best album's ever recorded. _Another World_ - 1985 They started using electronic keyboards and drum machines and stuff at this time, but they were still brilliant. _No Trespassing_ - 1986 A four song EP on the Rhino label, it's not recommended (by me) for non-fans. _Speak_ - 1989 This one was their debut on MCA/Paradox records. It packs about 14 songs onto one album! Definately one of their best efforts!! _We Three Kings_ - 1990 Brilliant (gee, have I used that word before?) Christmas album, even for a Jew like me. _A Dove_ - 1992 Their most recent effort, and I'm still not in love with it. I don't hate it or anything (after all, it's got that great opening song, "Ing." But I don't really love it. And that's kind of a disappointment for me, considering that I felt fairly strongly in favor of each of their other albums. Other fans out there might notice that I left out the soundtrack to _Crossing Delancey_. Well, that's just because I don't have it on CD yet, and you can get the songs I liked from there on other albums ("Nocturne" on _Speak_, and "Come Softly To Me" on _Another World_). But it is worth mentioning that Suzzy had a part in the film! She was better than Amy Irving! I guess I've said enough for now. Somebody just got me started, and I couldn't stop. -Sam P. S. To those who said that I left stuff out of my Basia post from last night- that's only because I had to log out of the computer. But, gloating just about here, I checked last night, and I came *very* close in the spelling of her last name. It's Trzetrzelewska. I had merely neglected the "e's." ======================================================================== Date: Fri, 08 Jul 1994 09:52:28 -0500 (EST) From: "she listens like her head's on fire.."
