Anyway Klaus I agree with you, > but disagree with you too - how's that for solving something :) That's fine with me. Having just bought Lene Lovich's "Stateless" CD, I found one named "Stateless Plus", which contains all songs from "Stateless" (though not in the original order) plus some additional tracks, bringing it to 17 songs. Of course the second album was at the same price as the original one. :( But apart from that, last evenings CD shopping was very successful, as I finally found my first albums from Danielle Dax and Diamanda Galas, as well as a new one from Anna Domino. I'll write later about all those new records which I got on ectophile's recommendation. Have a good weekend everybody! Hi to Alan and Sean (hi! waving back!), glad to hear from you! Sean, your address in on my list now and Alan, you're on the birthday list. Thanks! Sean, were you talking about the Ecto SiG or the HGPs? If so, just send 1 100 min. tape for the Sig and 2 100 minute tapes for the HGP, along with either a stamped, addressed mailer, or postage and a dollar for the mailer. Vickie Mapes, 1627 W. Farwell #2N, Chicago, IL 60626. Cathy, you can be in on the Ecto SiG too. (Has my mail reached you yet? :-( ) If you were talking about other SiGs I'll have to get back to you on that. I'm thinking of various schemes. Michael Peskura has been urging me for ages to start something along the lines of a "SiG-of-the-Month" club :-) or maybe even a weekly thing, but I just haven't sorted out details yet. I really need to get on that, because that's one of the things I used to lure Michael into Ecto....:-) because I said I wouldn't do it for gaffa but that I'd think seriously about doing it for Ecto. Still, the time and money involved is daunting (anybody wanna be either my "Vickie" in the dubbing area or my Sugar Daddy so I don't have to go look for an honest, or, as Kate would say, a "proper" job? Ha Ha!) and surely you all would get tired of sending me blank tapes all the time, so I just haven't figured it out yet. But, speaking of Suspended In Gaffa (the radio show)... Ectophiles have certainly had an impact on my playlists, here's my playlist from Wednesday night's show in Chicago... Suspended In Gaffa Chicago 1-15-92 Patti Smith ...End of Time (strk) It Takes Time Toyah Ophelia's Shadow Turning Tide Eleftheria Meno Ektos Meno Ektos Wendy MaHarry Fountain of Youth Too Busy Looking Out the Window Shona Laing South Glad I'm Not a Kennedy Gyan Gyan Black Wedding Ring Happy Rhodes Warpaint To Live in Your World Mathilde Santing ? Angelos, of course, sent me the Eleftheria, and Martin sent me the Gyan. Many many thanks to both of them. I have already played Eleftheria quite a bit (have even done whole Eleftheria sets) and I intend to play Gyan a lot too. I don't like every song on the album, but I like most of them, and those I like quite a bit. This song (Black Wedding Ring) is Martin's favorite song on the album and it definitely is mine too. Thanks very much to Klaus and Claudia for the Rainbirds album (Two Faces). This is the first time I've played anything from it, and I played my favorite song (Big Fat Cat) on both shows. I know nothing about Mathilde Santing. These songs come from an album Sue taped and sent me. I have 2 other albums in my collection, but I have no information about her. The Wendy MaHarry song is my favorite from that album too, though most of the songs are growing on me rapidly. This is an album that should be more widely available than many of the other things on these shows and I definitely recommend it. It's slightly uneven, but not enough to make a difference in how much I like it. IED sent me a tape with a lot of different music and the Jacqui Brooks song was one of them. I don't know anything about her, but I truly love this dark circus-waltzy-flavored song. My skills (if indeed I ever had any to begin with) in describing music has degenerated to the point of non-existence. It's one of the reasons that I've been reluctant to even try to get back into posting my lists. I really hate it when people post lists and then don't even try to describe the music, so I shouldn't get away with it either. It's a very frustrating dilemma and my biggest stumbling block (make that brick wall) in posting radio show playlists in a written forum. Still, I had so much fun with these shows and so many of the songs were inspired and made possible by the people on this list I had to type it in. Hmm, I usually play Kate and I just realized that neither show features her or Jane. Oh well, last week in Chicago I played the extended mix of RUTH, followed by Feed the Fire and Map of the World Pt. 1. Thanks again to Angelos, Martin, Klaus & Claudia, and also to Barry for giving me the idea to play Mary Coughlin and to Jorn for the same re: Marta Sebestyen (which is the song on HGP Pt.2). btw, I totally forgot to thank Barry for mentioning my show and saying it should be in the FAQ. I appreciate it and though I haven't added it, I'll see if I can't fit it in somewhere. Jeff Burka, I'm dying to hear Betty, thanks for offering to send a tape. I'll certainly play it on the air. Court, I did get your message, and I'll be waiting for the tapes from Kiri. Thanks for the offer of the Wogan show. I'll take it and Rocket Man from whoever can get it to me. If the quality is good enough, we can get it transferred (free!) to NTSC and then we can share the wealth with other NTSC-hostages. Klaus, my favorite Throwing Muses album is House Tornado, but it took me months to get to like it. Maybe Hunkpapa would be a better first try, it's probably more accessable too. I really didn't care all that much for the latest. *Way* too uneven. Maybe I haven't listened to it enough. What video did you see? Also, *WHAT* NEW ANNA DOMINO ALBUM????? Chris and I are crazy about Anna, especially Chris (he likes her better than Happy even, but that's ok, I still love him :-) and we're very interested in everything she does. What's the name and track listing, please? I don't know anything about the AG T-shirts yet. I haven't heard from Happy. I *hope* she's gotten the HGP tapes by now, I'm kinda worried they haven't made it there yet. Thanks Mitch and Jeff Burka and woj for letting me know you have yours. Thanks for the compliments too!
