Now Well, if this gets though to you, it will be the first time, because I've tried to mail your address and have only gotten bounces. I really was going to address this in Ecto, directed to you, but I kept putting it off. I am a procrastinator, but I *did* try to reach you, really I did. > at the risk of embarassing you in front of all ecto-files, I thought I could do that well enough on my own, but thanks anyway ;-) > that I would try to find out why I never got an Ecto SIG tape from you. Well, Jeff-with-the-long-black-hair told you all about it, so I won't continue to defend myself, except to say that I haven't absconded with your blank tapes and sold them to the Mafioso at a profit. Not have I used them for a personal copy of the Complete Works of Frank Sinatra courtesy Mitch. The EctoSig was a good, simple idea turned complicated due to continual additions and perks. I *hope* the finished product will be worth the wait, but that's for you and the other Ectophiles to decide. Me, I'm just a lawnmower, you can tell me by the way I walk (& talk). > I have seen many messages lately about the HGP, but never heard anything > of the SIG tape. Breaks my heart, and I *don't mean that sarcastically, (well, too much) and I hope that when you do get the tape, you will enjoy the music enough to get more of it. > Anxiously awaiting your reply. Sorry for complaining "publicly". No problem, I just wish I had been able to get through to you so you didn't think I was ignoring you, because I certainly wasn't. As long as we're at it-Joel Malman, before you go "Gene" on me, the same applies to you. I haven't been able to get through to you, and I want you to know that I wasn't ignoring you either. One more thing, Cathy probably hasn't gotten anything for days...my mailbox is full of things that have bounced back from her. Cathy, if you're reading this, I'll keep trying to send the playlists you wanted. This reminds me of the time I sent Happy a check (have I told this story?) for copies of the 1st4 and the check bounced! Ah Geez! Not Happy! Yep, it did, and Happy wrote me a note saying "The men with the baseball bats will be at your door momentarily" and drew a ball bouncing, complete with special audio effects ("Boing.....boing.....boing...") Oh that Happy, she's a one, isn't she? So, besides deciding that Rearmament is AS great as Ecto, Warpaint, Vol.1 (Still haven't fully appreciated Vol.2 but it's growing on me)) I want to thank David and Greg for their prompt responses to my Postscript question. More details on the songbook when it is Totally ready. Tentative title (you guessed) 'Poetic Justice'. I will try to make it look good and include the available GIF's and maybe a refined FAQ and Interview, so that it will be complete. Once a PS version exists, I'll send it to Jessica to make it available through ftp, or I'll just e-mail a copy to whoever is interested. I've listened to everything BUT VOl.2 ... Time to give it another try... My address (for now, I'm job-hunting) is: Sean Casey 317 E. Maxwell Lexington, KY. 40508 [Hi Vickie... (wave) how can I get copies of your show tapes?] I'm making plans to go to the Happy concert in Philadelphia. I'll probably run up there with Jessica. Note that I've not really heard Happy's music, so it ought to be an interesting time. I do enjoy the likes of Kate, Sarah McLachlin, Jane Siberry, Grace Pool, Enya, Marillion, Cocteau Twins, Innocence Mission(1), etc., so I'm sure I'll enjoy it. And it'll be good to see Jess and my N.J. friends and catch up on what's happening in peoples lives. I also want to take a look around Philly. There are a lot of job openings out there, and I'd like to see what kind of place it would be to live in. For that matter, if you've been there, tell me what you think! A friend of mine says she really wants to live there because she likes it so much. I always thought it would be cool to have a ranch, and scads of money, and invite creative people to come stay a while, relax, talk, ride horses, and be creative. I'm surprised Jess (you listening?) hasn't yet talked Happy into visiting her in N.J. and get her on forumnet or ICB for a while. You know, order a pizza, log in, and chat with the fans. Cool beans. Sean (1) I.M. is my next concert goal. Aash says they're awesome in person. If they hit Bogarts in Cincinatti again I will not miss it this time :). -- Sean Casey |``Wind, waves, etc. are breakdowns in the face of the sean@s.ms.uky.edu | commitment to getting from here to there. I finally picked up their CD today, which I've been meaning to do for a while, and you might want to give 'em a listen if you can find it--to my knowledge, they only have one album out, called _Hello Betty_. It's a trio, Amy and Bitzi Ziff (sisters) and Alyson Palmer. I'm not sure if they're from DC or New York; I'd thought they were a local band (in fact, one of their songs is called "D.C. Dog") but they're address is in New York. Curious. The album is a weird combination of rock, vocal jazz, and *very* tongue-in- cheek comedy. It includes covers of "Fun Girl" (from _Funny Girl_) and, "BETTY's interpretation of the theme song for the amazing 60's tv sitcom, "petticoat junction." Vickie...the album contains a rather cool song which I have a feeling you'll be quite interested in. I know you're interested in Jane Siberry covers, but you've only found one so far--"Follow Me" by 2NG. No, no, Betty didn't cover a Jane song. But they came semi-close... How about a song that contains the lyrics: Git along little doggie Git along Hey Jane, can we get a doggie? They even thank Jane Siberry for inspiration in the thank you notes. (Vickie--as I owe you a tape, I'll tape this (and something else which I haven't completely decided on but have some ideas) and send it off...) Jeff |Jeffrey C. They are wonderful! My sister gave me a tape of there's last summer and it's one of my favorite tapes. She's seen them live a number of times, and I understand that they are playing soon (or just performed recently) in the DC area. My sister lives in the DC area, which is really my hometown. Have fun with BETTY, and remember, there's a "little of miss snake in all of us." Now if only we could get a RS feature on Happy!
