It is already quite big, although I only included what is considered essential. Some details will be added later. Right now, have a look and let me know what you would like to have added, changed, deleted, capitalized or whatever. Because of it's size (and it will surely grow!) I don't want to post it reguarly. It is a perfect candidate for the archive, and the latest copy can always be requested from me. Once we have a complete and polished version, I will post it to rec.music.info and put it into David Datta's music archive. Here is a small list of important questions: - should the World Cafe "live" songs go into it? (they have not been released, just aired) - is there a tape release of Equipoise? - can someone answer the items marked with a question mark? And now, here it comes ... PS: I've resisted the urge to post 7 consecutive message with the subject lines: runners he will come the flight out like a lamb save our souls closer temporary and eternal cohabitants play the game mother sea i say (it would have looked great at the beginning of the digest :) _____ Klaus Kluge * klaus@inphobos.w.open.de * I'll be here, I'll be (in) Ecto! ======================================================================== Subject: Happy Rhodes Discography From: klaus@inphobos.w.open.de (Cosmic Vagabond) Date: Thu, 25 Feb 93 15:42:36 GMT By Klaus Kluge Revision 0.0a (25 February 1993) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- This document is a discography of: Happy Rhodes This list was compiled by Klaus Kluge. Loved both songs (Digging in the dirt and Washing of the water)! Who was playing the violin-like instrument though and who is the keyboardist? Manu Katche was on drums, Tony Levin on Bass, David Rhodes on guitar and Marsalis played the sax. It was also the first time I see PG play keyboards during his performance. Did he do that in WOMADelaide too? But Leno didn't ask important questions like when is he going to tour the US? Angelos (hoping to get tix for Prince at the Orpheum (a 2,000 seat theater!) ) ======================================================================== From: jmg@rocket.com (Jim Gurley) Subject: Re: PJ Harvey Date: Fri, 26 Feb 93 8:10:24 PST > PJ HARVEY!!!! I just wanted to second that recommendation of Polly as ecto-special. Last summer a friend of mine taped a 120 minutes segment and said there's someone on it that I might like... turned out to be the video for Shelagh-nee-gig (sp) which is gritty, and raw and gripping. Neile was out of town but I decided to buy PJ's debut album DRY based on that one song. It's great. Polly played in Seattle twice last fall, but both times we couldn't get to see her. oh well...BTW though it's here name, it's also suppose to be the name of her band as well. Apparently, she has another album coming out in late March/early April. (I'm sure Neile will third or fourth this recommendation, that is if our posts don't cross in the e-network wires). ======================================================================== Date: 26 Feb 93 12:32:30 EST From: Mike Mendelson Subject: PG on J Well, I may have missed the Crannies, but I *did* capture PG on J in its entirety, interview, two songs and all last night. (That's Jay Leno, Johnny Carson's replacement, the Tonight Show). Was it just me or did PG look kinda down in the dumpster? Or does he always look and sound depressed? I think this is the first time I'va actually seen him interviewed. Well, I know the album is a *recovery* (for lack of better word) thing, but man, poor guy, looks really older and beaten down. Hmmm.... J did say Rosanna would be on *next* week... mind you J did not ask at all about the music on the album per se... he justed asked about some worms in some video I haven't seen. PG played somewhat thin versions of Digging in the Dirt and Washing of the Water, and I must say these are still two of my *very* favorites off of US. (I also like Secret World and Blood of Eden and Love to be Loved.) Still, his vocals are *great*. I just love the way he uses his voice... at the same time understated and worn, yet forceful. He really did seem out of it, though. Man. -palindrome- ======================================================================== The ecto archives are on hardees.rutgers.edu in ~ftp/pub/hr.
