Happy Giving Thanks day to all.....in this time of war and fear and hard times, I give thanks for all your support and help and love thru the years of struggling with making music. I truly thank each ecto for your open ears. DON'T FORGET The environmentalists say "in the midst of war and losing jobs, we can't forget the environment"...because the economy may return, the war will end (soon I pray), our jobs may come back, Bush's 4 years will end (soon I hope), but the lost trees, forests, animals, the purity of the land cannot return, ever. GOOD NEWS!!! THE GOOD NEWS IS, after 5 years in the making...TREESIT, by HAVC (Headwaters Action Video Collective) IS DONE!!!!!! I have seen it and it is excellent, beautifully shot, well-edited, educational (you could give it to your granny for christmas, I plan to, and she would understand what is happening up north) but never boring and the music is EXCELLENT!!!!(tee hee, The Blind has two songs in it, CHURCH & TRIBE, and to my delight, they used them just perfectly, but really, the whole soundtrack is great).... COME SEE IT IN PERSON!!!!BLINDLAND PLAYS LIVE!!!! So, for all of you in San Francisco folk or anyone close to the Bay Area, please please join us in the Premiere of TREESIT, a documentary of Julia Butterfly and many many other tree-sitters, Thursday Nov. 29th at Cell Space, 2050 Bryant St east of the Mission District at 7pm. The "new" Blind, "BLINDLAND", the SF version, will play a few tunes, then the movie will show on Cell's giant screen, then we will play a set after while folks nosh. The door is sliding scale and all monies are going towards their next film, exposing the toxic nuclear waste dumping on Native Lands.... INSTEAD OF SOCKS THIS CHRISTMAS!!! To all of you all over the country, unable to attend, please consider ordering this film and giving it for Christmas instead of socks to all your friends and family, let the world know about one of our last and most beautiful American forests, and the True AMERICAN Heros that are fighting the BIG BIG BOYS to save them!!! James Ficklin, who directed it, has begun to win major environmental awards for his work in Europe (why are we always last to recognize our own??)...it is truly amazing and I am proud to help them, donate my time and work, & to push this film out to all of you. It's all worth it when you see it. some press quotes; "takes you high into the canopy of North America's oldest rainforest, where young activists have taken the art of resistance to new heights. A 10 year look at EarthFirst, from the assassination attempt on Judi Bari to the awakening of Julia Butterfly, with the opinions of loggers, Native Americans, local rural residents, activists, scientists, government agents, this movie is a modern day mythic struggle to protect Mother Earth"..... here's the info on ordering; to order a VHS copy; (suggested donation is $25-50 for this self-produced grass roots movie) check or money order to HAVC PO Box 2198 Redway, CA 95560 (415) 820-1635 contact us info@havc.org check it out www.treesit.org thank you all again for listening, for being out there, for being yourselves. peace, cyoakha grace TO ALL, I have changed my email address to cyo@landoftheblind.com please update your address book, thanks Cyoakha O'Manion Music PO Box 198 Mill Valley, CA 94941 cyo@landoftheblind.com http://www.landoftheblind.com ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V7 #335 **************************
